I also thought she unironically moved out of the US because she was "terrified to live in the US." How's that gonna work since they film the show in the US and can't relocate it overseas (it's significantly harder to round up an all-American audience of sycophants to fill a studio outside Southern California)?
It's called a slur because a person is literally slurring their speech. So it goes negro (nay-gro) to nee-gro to neg-ra to nig-ra to nig'r to nigger. A slur is a mispronunciation of a word, not a "bad word said to hurt someone's feelings". As an example, "hermit" is a slur of eremite. People mispronounced eremite often and long enough that the slur became a word far more common than the original.
