It's fascinating how he wasn't the worst president of all time, up until maybe even the first year of his 2nd term, but some people thought he was. Then in a way he made himself the worst by double and tripling down to "own" those people. It's a common trait with the worst leaders in history, while they're in power they know they're talked about as the worst ever so make all these risky stupid decisions and it cements them to the bottom spot.
