The Orthodox Church of America is the biggest attempt at an American Church. It has it's own drama, everything has drama. The other Orthodox churches will accept converts and the main driver of conversions in the Orthodox world is Alexandria.

I can't imagine being a Catholic these days having to defend every supposed God's representative on Earth being more laughably out of touch and hostile to Christian nations than the last. It used to be, since it's of Russian origin while running parallel to ROCOR in a lot of areas in America. But the OCA has done a lot of work to not be that way. Services are overwhelmingly in English and have been for a long while. Pretty much every Orthodox church of varying jurisdicions I've been to during a service has been 80%-99% English.

Honestly, I think the ethnic in-group/out-group concerns in American Orthodox parishes are overblown, especially since the surge of converts and more Americanized children of immigrants in the last decade or two.
