I think femcels do exist, but the number of "true" femcels is a debatable number. There's plenty of introverted women who don't go outside, but there's also a group of women who use that tag in an attempt to garner simps and other forms of male validation which muddies the proverbial water. It's just another flavor of fakecel/trucel/volcel/whatever argument, but it's for women.
Some women are loners, some can't handle relationships because of trauma or mental health problems, some save themselves for marriage or a man not addicted to porn, and some just don't go outside. The reason you don't hear as much about them is that the kind of women who openly call themselves "femcels" are likely doing it performatively.

Because men think women live on easy mode and that if we just put some effort into ourselves, we have the pick of the litter if we go out clubbing.
That line of thinking further deepens the divide between the sexes, instead of just agreeing that both sexes have struggles that the opposite can't understand and then having sloppy, ugly sex with each other.
I just wanna grill, man. I don't want to be a whore and I don't want to go clubbing. My list of issues is what's keeping me from even attempting to date, nevermind that I'm in my mid 30's and I don't want children. I have nothing to offer to either sex because I'm not beautiful, not funny and not successful in life.
