Absolutely not, the game has universal exp share and ties friendship with all the buffs you got from the Pokemon Amie shit in Gen VI, so that means all his pokemon will end up getting boosted experience and survive 1 hit KOs like he has a Gameshark on, and he'll probably end the game overleveled because out of all the remakes, the Gen IV ones had the least thought put into them.
