Pratt isn't even "anti-woke"--he's socially liberal and the only issues he's been running on are getting the junkies off the streets, making neighborhoods ones you'd want to walk through safely, allowing people to rebuild their homes, and literally cleaning the sidewalks.
That makes him anti-woke. "Woke" is all about letting sociopaths and miscreants ruin everything because it would be mean to stop them.

They will use “Pratt’s failure” (I don’t think he failed, it was doomed from the start tbh), as an example that anti-woke politics don’t work at the state and federal levels. Back to the uniparty baseline. Do you guys feel great again yet?
I'm sure the plan trusters are having a great time sweeping this under the rug and ignoring the fact that their entire movement has been shot dead and that Total Uniparty Victory has been achieved.

POTUS and everyone around him were complete retards for accommodating Altman last year. Now his pathological boomer need for the line to go up has chained the entire economy to what is largely a scam technology from a scam company that doesn't fucking do anything useful.
Just when you think MAGA couldn't get more dead, Trump keeps digging its grave deeper. I fucking swear we are about to experience the second coming of the Great Depression pretty soon thanks to him.

I've been a lot of places, seen a lot of breathtaking places, I mean literally so beautiful it takes your breath away. No place I rather be than where I am right now, right in the shadow of the Appalachians, when i visited California I was tested in this. I cannot imagine how angry someone born and raised there would feel about it all. I just wanted to do more than just like your post, I wanted to tell you i'm sorry they took that from you, from others, from all of us really.
Damnit you got me bro. Real angry, is the answer. Really really really sad and angry.

Wow, that's crazy!

So any 4th of July plans?

In terms of using less gas? The US already has the worlds largest rail network but we just use it for freight instead of people. Considering the absolute size of the US that is probably all its going to be used for since at best you have local mass transit, cars to drive medium to long distances, and airplanes to travel extreme (anything more than 7+ hours depending) for people.

As for more local mass transit: That would require arresting black people. Get over that hump and local mass transit will kick off.
The big issue is those rails are run by freight companies and another issue is that programs that are nice like Amtrak have been gutted by small goverment republicans because sending billions more to israel is what being a true conservative means while destroying your passenger rail legacy.
ive long had a theory that a pointless enough and angry enough internet argument must be generating some kind of energy that we can harness.

anyone else feel like trumps fixing up DC fountains and hyper focusing on that shit really feels like when your life is a mess so you clean your room to feel like your doing something?

"mr president whats going on with Iran"

"yes ive seen it sir, but the gas prices..."

"once again very nice sir, but why do the job numbers keep getting revised down?"

I promise that isent even all of them from this morning he has like 3 more fountain posts, all within the span of about an hour or so
I mean at the end of the day im happy about the fountains I am genuinely happy DC is being fixed up but im still upset about everything else.

well, those companies built the rail roads, why shouldn't they run them? Cite your source for a gutting of AMTRAK. Service has only been improving and new locomotives and rolling stock has been coming on line.

The "Passenger Rail Legacy" was destroyed in 1970 by the rail passenger service act that removed the burden of common carrier status from the railroads and thus the requirement they offer passenger service themselves. instead of offering a government subsidy to take some of the cost burden off the company books (like is done with the airlines) the government usurped the whole passenger industry wholesale, introducing the cluster fuck that has been AMTRAK. Subsidizing passenger rail in recognition that it was absurdly expensive to the companies to provide, but otherwise allowing them to run that service as best fit their business would have been the best option.

In my area, after AMTRAK usurped passenger rail, passenger service here ended almost immediately. by 1980, all that was left here was greyhound.

Ehhhh. A lot of railroads were built with American tax dollars. Entire states nearly bankrupted themselves building them.

Rail isn't an economically efficient or convenient way to travel regardless though so the people pushing for it are morons.
Like we need to actually get off our asses and invest in rail and mass transit infrastructure too not just in your tier 1 cities like Dallas or Philly but smaller cities like Cincinnati or Birmingham.
NOBODY wants to PAY MORE than a plane ticket to arrive SLOWER at their destination.

"Mass Transit" almost always ends up being underutilized because it can't match the conveniences of having your own private vehicle. With a private vehicle:

-Your schedule is not beholden to the bus line

-You can go from point A to B immediately with no additional stops, meaning you reach your destination faster (time is money)

-Your environment in-transit is climate controlled to your preferences

-You don't have to share a space with homeless people and elders who shit their pants right on the bus, or swarthoids blasting their music as loud as their shitty handheld speaker will permit.

-You don't have to stand around an unpleasant brutalist concrete bunker in the middle of winter waiting for a bus or a train, or out in the snow and wind trying to keep yourself as warm as possible while waiting

I swear the only people who hype up 'mass transit' are the Champaign socialist midwits who never have to actually use it. There has NEVER been a circumstance in my adult life where I would rather take a public bus as opposed to driving or ubering somewhere. Mass Transit is a matter of practicality for people who either cant drive or can't afford a car.

We don't use it because we LIKE IT, we use it because we HAVE TO

how the hell is Karen Bass still getting votes
after the innumerable dumb shit she's done
Our big friend the mail in ballots and the vote blue no matter who crowd insists that the dems are the good guys.

I dunno I can sit down and have a coffee and work/game on a laptop on most commuter and inner city trains. Second we used to have a pretty good train connection system as late as the 1970s.

Let's see wanting something reasonable like a once daily service in almost every single major city so places like Las Vegas or Columbus Ohio or even Tulsa should be connected by train. Again im not arguing for coast to coast high speed rail im just asking for america to fix its rail transit system to where it was in the 1970s that it basically reached all of the lower 48 states by passenger service.

True from 2021-2024. Democrat voters wanted immigration to take off like a rocket, and it did. Foreign-born employment slammed into a wall when Trump took office. Party's over for the jeet.
This is visible in the FRED graphs.
Biden jeeted the workforce to an incredible degree in a short time.
