and that is actually an incredibly low false positive rate for a screening test.

And, again, I will stress, that a screening test IS NOT a confirmatory/diagnostic test. These two types of tests are VERY, VERY different.

...and there's an argument for before 40 days since the fetus is ensouled at 40 days.

That would be an argument based on fantasy and magic, not science and reality.

Am I supposed understand your post?

Edit: you fixed your bad formatting. I’ve heard too many stories of false positives from the initial test to believe that’s an accurate measurement.

Ah, yes, the "I have heard many anecdotes of so there for your actual scientific study can't possibly be right!" I hate dealing with idiots like you.

Also, there's gene therapy cures for it now so even if his kid had that disorder, it could've been cured.

There absolutely fucking is not! That is completely and 100% bullshit and fantasy.

why not just lie and say it was a miscarriage?
Since they're filming themselves reading the test results while his wife has a mental break down they're either more interested in the views this will bring their channel or they're massive attention whores, or both

These types of people are subhuman. I agree with aborting the downie but don't farm it for clicks

Maybe this is a hot take but it's been like five pages of "I totally get it, but don't talk about it publicly!" I think he did the right thing by doing it and by talking about it. The social attitude will not change otherwise. Fucked up babies were exposed for all of human history until relatively recently, if anything detecting the disorder in utero and aborting the child before it's conscious is the most merciful thing you could do. I oppose abortion generally but this is like the same category as a rape baby or endangered mother to me, go for it and don't feel bad.

It was aborted at 5 months. The only way to do it is to cut the baby up inside the woman and pull it out limb by limb.

This wasn’t a first trimester abortion.

Maybe like you they thought that a false positive rate of 0.2 was just not low enough and waited for the amniotic test, hence the five months

lol, but the first test is super accurate!!! Why would they wait?

At this point, I’m waiting for this come out this was a gay op. It all sounds too retarded to be real.

YouTuber McJuggerNuggets announced that he and his wife willingly aborted their child because it was diagnosed with Down Syndrome.
Good on them. To the people who are offended that people did not want to deal with a LIFETIME of stress, genuinely do not know how much patience and attention you have to raise a special needs child. It’s not the same as raising a normal child.

You ready to:
  • Take care of your child not being potty trained properly until their a teenager?
  • Always feel that your kid will never fit in with other kids other than the other special kids?
  • Your kid has to take special classes and can’t participate in most activities or sports?
  • Have your child be in a daytime facility when they leave high school? You better pray that they’re smart enough to hold a job when they grow up!
  • Constantly worry about your child’s safely well into their adult lives because they have the understanding of a 10 year old?
  • Sometimes they die in their 40s as well, depending on how severe their disability is.
  • And the list can go on….
The only people who keep Down syndrome babies are extremely religious people who are against abortion. You’ll notice that ALOT of businesses that involve Down Syndrome kids and adults are Catholic/Christian associated.

Take it from my mother, who has worked with mentally disabled adults for half of her life. “If you can help it, don’t have a Down syndrome child. They’re sweet but their life will be a struggle forever”

That’s just not true. A lot of non religious businesses hire them now for the incentives they get for it. And also feel good points from the public. Why do think some grocery stores keep baggers around?

characterizing abortion as being done for the sake of the downie being spared a life of hardship is stupid, downies on average are most perpetually blissful people you'll ever meet precisely because they're too retarded to know any better.

just be honest with yourself and say you don't want to deal with all that shit, i wouldn't either.

Looks like that retardation came from a pre-existing source if you genuinely thought announcing the culling of a downie was in good taste. Even as someone who leans fairly towards pro-life, it's a completely understandable decision, especially given the utter hell mid to low functioning children are to care for let alone optimistically raise (even the high functioning ones can be a lot since it's never just the mental disability). Admittedly, I could never wish the culling of already present harmless retards as I'm too soft-hearted and emotionally compromised by the one in my life; I can definitely say that they'll breathe a whole lot easier dealing with the fallout of that post than they would dealing with that child IF it did develop downs.

Should be neat to watch Xitter trip over itself between defending its primarily pro-choice stance whilst also protecting the majority populations' future retards from this ableist genocide.

To me it feels more like they're doing it for views rather than public awareness

Children with severe down syndrome are effectively life-long burdens and if you have one, in the vast majority of cases, you are making yourself a caregiver until your dying days.

I get why he did it, but why the fuck would you share this? When will people learn not to overshare online.
Moral injury is relieved through admission and community acceptance. So my guess is they feel guilty about their decision and this provides relief. They probably also think that publicly admitting it would help other people who have made the same choice feel less isolated, which likely also helps with their moral injury. I understand the reasoning, but it's something I definitely wouldn't want to announce to the world if I were ever in that situation.

More people should announce when they do it so it becomes the normal solution and you don't have people ruining their lives providing possibly lifelong special care for a genetic dead end with no future. This is eugenics at it's most basic level, I don't know how you can be right-wing and not support abortion in cases like this.

Take a penny, eat a penny.

*car crash*

But let me put my thinking cap on, it's bad enough to go through with this but with all the money you make, I would've kept the kid, gives you more reasons to make content.
