Civvie 11 - Retro FPS Boomer

the not-so-subtle nazi references in the game itself.
I wasn't paying the closest attention to the plot summary. What is it with the shrews? It doesn't make sense to me. It looks like they wanted to put too many things in the bucket: a noir detective story, old animations, and... references to the Holocaust™. In America. What?

The antagonist of the game is a thinly veiled reference to the British Union of Fascists and you're wondering why they include "the shrews"?

Didn't the magician pick the Shrews cause their ink (blood) was better for he's crazy plan?

ou can hear how fatigued he got from how aggressively mid the game is to him and the apparently really long campaign, also, a lot more shitting on right wingers than usual thanks to the not-so-subtle nazi references in the game itself.
Def a "Wait for a sale" here. Does make me want to reinstall Fallen Aces though.

Just a reminder that the Witchaven bundle is about to be delisted, it's heavily discounted both on Steam and GOG.

I suppose there's a remaster coming... let's see.

In the meantime,

Separately, this guy has done a pretty good job explaining Hexen's armor system.

Still overly complicated but eh.

Última edición:
Witchavens haven't aged well. They are the kind of material that could use a complete remaster like Resident Evil 2 (not that I have anything against the original RE2, mind you). The digitized arms and weapons look nice in screenshots, but that's about it. Heretics and Hexens are significantly better, even if the latter can be extremely confusing with "switch opens door on the other end of a huge map" design.

Yeah it's pretty funny how hard he was trying not to outright shit on the game and bite his tongue but you could still tell that he really did not like it at all.

Even if they were ported to the KEX engine (not against them getting the Nightdive beauty treatment), I don't think I've ever been interested in those games, least of all, Tekwar.

When I saw the name I remembered the share ware, it was cool all around video this time. Wild story and neat to see all the stuff they managed to do esp as a kid!

He confirmed once again his total bitch status by turning the music off in a Ken Silverman game (something which should be classified as a war crime)
I'm far from a suck up and I'm not even a gamer but I like (most) of his vids because these were ones I mostly didn't play as a kid and had demos.

He shouted out my NIGGA Andrew Holeshet. His music is fire. Anyone who played Doom etc, it's just that on steroids.

My personal fav is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtbsVaMkibY IIRC was in ROTT remake but fuck this is peak FPS music and super driving tunes. Civvi might be a lame fat commie cry baby but he told all us this shit slaps.
