Again, thanks for everything you do, Jersh. I wish I wasn't so tech-retarded so I could throw you more shekels.

Building on that tech-retardation, am I wrong to think an attack of this magnitude would require a lot of money? Where the fuck did the attacker get the funds to slam this site with multiple terabytes of traffic??? Not that I have any idea how much money it costs to run a DDoS attack.

(I will refrain from sperging about trannies in tech in case that leans too close to speculation)
 
Assuming this actually was ANTIFA related, I'm starting to wonder if there maybe was some state-sponsored support behind this. China certainly has been funding them through various channels in the past.

I don't think Glorious Pooh-ler has a hit out on The Farms or Dear Feeder- rather, this might be a test run for further ops. In which case, Tartarus held up better than Cloudflare (granted their hit was 3x this one, per their own reporting, with only a fraction of the infrastructure).

....actually, could you turn a botnet on itself by redirecting attackers to IP addresses used by the attack? @Null is that possible?

Though you could just say "doing so is incredibly illegal and causes too much collateral damage to victims that are unknowingly involved with the DDOS attack"

Which is a shame because if you could redirect it to hosts that intentionally use unsecured and hackable systems then maybe they would actually secure their shit. I was just thinking if there was a way to set up a on-the-fly dns redirect so instead of attacking KF ip addresses they instead go after the ones that are the biggest sources of the attack though I expect that to be too much on-the fly calculating to determine. Like for peak loads that take down the site could you have a system that goes "fuck off go bother cloudflare" intermittently that would cause cloudflare to investigate and deal with the attack. But the AI is pretty certain you would be also at fault though i can't investigate the details of the laws to make sure.

I have access to some fairly extensive attack reports. They showed one of the endpoint attacks I could track down at about 5.5Tbps, which corroborates with the Null numbers (and to some extent the attacker's claims), for what it's worth.

Also, if this is the 3rd of the 4 biggest attacks, what was the largest attack ever then?
