I remember when this happened I worked with a guy who was completely adamant that they should have risked letting the little kid die instead of putting down Harambe. His argument was that western lowland gorillas are rarer than human children, and we didn't know for sure Harambe was going to kill the boy.

It was one of the funniest things I've ever heard anyone admit to believing in person in complete sincerity, that's the kind of take you'd hear on 4chan. Imagine the controversy for the zoo if there was video of a gorilla mauling a child. It was then I realized the line between the Internet and real life is becoming thinner over time.

The Harambe thing in hindsight is weird for me because I've been to the Cincinnati zoo a few times prior to it happening and so I probably saw Harambe while he was still alive.

But yet I have no memories really of the Gorillas.

I was more interested in the Penguins

Have you not considered just... arresting everyone involved? Social media being "held accountable" is just code for data extraction via age verification and surveillance. This has already been tried and it doesn't actually solve anything.
