This is something I really want people to get. The status quo we have isn't how things have always been, even if it's been like this for our whole lives (I'm going to guess we don't have anyone on the site that was around before we moved to the current system we use. Not saying that's going to happen tomorrow or even next year, but it absolutely will not last forever. And Americas place in the market especially so. If the petrodollar truly does go away because of Trump's retarded war with Iran, I think it's going to move the timeline along quite a bit. We will no longer have the safety net that provided us (giving us a global position of authority in the market, and all the benefits that come with that). Especially if we don't do what people like Massive are trying to do. Get government spending in control, decrease the national debt, and decrease inflation. If we had people in office the last 20 years that actually wanted to get American financial system in a better position the threat of the petrodollar collapsing wouldn't matter quite as much. But with how things are its pretty concerning.
