A funny point: while what you said is broadly true, Trump was so worried about oil prices he let up on sanctions not only on Russia, but on Iran itself! Yes, they revoked oil sanctions against the country they attacked. That's how sensative they are to an increase in oil prices.

I would argue that this is because the GOP prefers to let private entities do a lot of the heavy lifting and they enable that through deregulation. The DNC is already leaning heavily against the construction of data centers so under Harris we would've probably witnessed some massive spergouts on her end with AI companies being subject to greater scrutiny and their data centers being subjected to retarded regulations.

Start at the easiest accusation people like you always make about market dynamics like this: Oil is clearly a 100% purely fungible good. An ounce of oil in the middle east and an ounce of oil in the middle of canada are completely economically indistinguishable and there is literally 0 cost in either time or money to replace one with the other.
Yeah in my opinion the bill should've focused more heavily on the buildout of regional rail systems in the southern US and Rust Belt. Bare bones commuter rail systems on a mixed double-triple track alignment with bypass tracks at stations for Amtrak and freight would hardly cost anything and get decent ridership. The only time passenger rail ever costs a lot of money is when you're building HSR or metro services in urban areas that are on viaducts or in tunnels.
