I have a different theory about this. The vendor has come out and said multiple times that the leasehold issue was made very clear to her, and it is obvious that the price of the property is low precisely because of this issue (if memory serves, I think he mentioned this too in his statements). I find it hard to believe that she wasn't well aware of why the property was that price and/or that no-one warned her about this. I think she still uses drugs, especially stimulants, and that she committed to purchase the property while under the influence (cf. her purchases on ebay and etsy while using drugs: all the sideboards, antique cutlery, other random rubbish). When she sobered up and realised what she had committed to, she ghosted him. But you're right that it fits into the same pattern of over-committing.
Anyway these made me laugh. Unfortunately you can only browse her BlueSky if you are logged in - this is a setting she has applied herself as I am able to look at other cows' BlueSkies without problems.

So, it appears the rumours are true. Jack Monroe, who scammed people out of tens of thousands of pounds by refusing to fulfil her Patreon obligations, and who pled poverty while receiving £3,000 in one month alone, is apparently employed by Southend Council as a "policy advisor".
It seems she's rebranded as "Jack Hadjicostas" now, but the Internet will never forget her lies: https://grift.watch/jack-monroe.
I think perhaps a complaint to the Southend Labour Party is also in order: I don't think Jack is fit to advise the Leader of Southend Council on Labour Party policy given her background.

This is pretty obviously, imo, some kind of "jobs for mates" deal that she's got going because of all her volunteering, which is an allegation that the local Reform politicians are going with hard on twitter:

It is budget day in Southend. Whilst ‘officially’ the idea of political assistants at taxpayers expense was dropped, we at Southend Reform were shocked that the Leader of the Council appears to have his own political support.
This is real jobs for the boys stuff. @reformparty_uk will put an end to this nepotism and have put an amendment forward tonight to delete this role and put the money in the pot for those pensioners who have had their winter fuel allowance cut by this cruel government.
Thanks to @reformparty_uk Southend Council will have a choice tonight. We say freeze Labour’s nepotism and not our pensioners.

I see that @tonycoxreform isn't letting the Jack Monroe matter drop. Good for him. A scam artist on £60,000/year of taxpayer money. It's scandalous. It's outrageous.
How is she qualified for the role, etc? It's a mystery.

It's the equivalent of a privated account. She has it set to require the user to be logged-in in order to view anything. If you don't have a BS account/don't want to or can't log in, you can't view the profile. It's just easier to refer to it as "privated" as the effect is the same.

I think it came out ages ago that he doesn't live with Jack. He must be about 16 now, hopefully he'll have his choices respected (which I assume would be to keep living with his stepmum and half siblings).
 
Of course she’s managed to make his death all about herself, the pathetic narc.

He was always the primary parent for their son, who is now 16 and will be about to sit his GCSE exams and finish school.

He also had two further children with someone else. I hope they are all being supported.
 
I just read the whole thread and wow, what a lying, grifting sack of shit. She reminds me of Becky Gerber with the "How dare you criticize me, a disabled trans rape survivor. Fact checking my blatant lies is HARASSMENT" shtick. Feel awful for her son.
