If I was a member of this church, this is the kind of thing that would make me leave it. A leader acting like this is horrible and I wouldn't trust this man to be a good spiritual leader. I'd want a man who genuinely cares about Christ and good will and about being a good Christian.
The issue I see too is that there’s far too much anger at the poor over the billionaires who make it worse for us all. The idea that any job should exist that you work 40 hours and cannot afford the basics to live is insane. We’ve allowed the richest to tell us that a McDonald’s worker should need 2-3 jobs to support themselves, for the purpose of making the wealthy wealthier. Corporations like Walmart advise their employees to go on SNAP and other programs, essentially making tax payers make up for them, while the Waltons have such enormous wealth they could stop earning today and not see a dent for generations.
