Troonslop "Retro" Games / Demake games / PS1 Trannies / ULTRAKILL / Y2K trannies - Retro gaming is infected

These people talk about art direction but also completely gloss over the fact that PSX had a colorful range of art styles borne out of its limitations just to make the same cookie cutter gooner girl OC for the billionth time.
While we're talking artfag stuff, what has annoyed me most about modern low-poly is how simple and boring their texture choices are. The whole reason PS1 textures were cool to begin with is that they were compressing huge amounts of detail into a tiny little area. That's it, that's the entire reason low poly is cool. If you want good low poly just add more details. Look at this for example

Notice how 2 of these screenshots look great, and one looks like shit. It's all about the detail. This game is "Nightmare Creatures" on PSX, by the way. Famously called "Bloodborne if it were on Playstation". Now let's compare it to Bloodborne PSX

Lol dude. You're getting graphically mogged by a game from 30 fucking years ago because you're too lazy to detail your shit.

For a lot of these people the PS1 aesthetic is just make rough blocky shapes. They don't consider the details on surfaces or models or the somewhat weird animations.

btw Bloodborne demake is 100% true and honest troonslop made by british tranny Lilith Walther who is butt buddies with Jim Sterling. I also remember some time ago Lilith caught some flak on Xitter for his opinions on games and how all games should be like his idea of PS1 games

:story: I'm at a loss for words right now!
"The characters were detransitioned"
>watch the trailer
>all characters are middle-aged creepy white dudes aside from one young-looking female playable character

Well, well, well 8)

The green-haired girl IS probably a trooned out crossdressing boy though, since these types really are obsessed with depicting their tranny selves as uwu broken little girlies. The fact all male characters are depicted as gray and boring really tells you it was a male gooner hand that drew them.

It's interesting how these people simultaneously believe that videogames are art and that they have to follow a really specific framework to count.

Also, I don't know if anyone mentioned this but this guy also made a bloodborne kart that's available on steam apparently:
I really don't like this trend of putting memey bullshit into their games that these people do. I like Ultrakill, but I hate everytime they add some in-joke from their discord into the game. Shit just pulls me straight out of the game. And this feels like a whole game that is just that, a whole unfunny joke. It's free at least, so there's that.

It seems like the consensus is that you have to be either washed out Megaman Legends, or Neocities like eye cancer. It is a shame, I do like low poly, y2k aesthetics etc.
Yeah, it's a shame. I also love the vintage stuff cause I grew up with it and most of my 3D know how came at a time I had this super shitty old 2004 laptop, so I quickly learned how important optimization was lest my rig die cause I dared to do a puddle simulation on Blender. (this happened lol, dw the brick is still alive though...somehow)
And these people SUCK at that stuff...really, why do I need a NASA rig to play your shitty "retro" game??? It's style with no substance.

This too. One thing I always loved about older games is how texture artists would either use photobashing for more realistic results or would treat their texture as it's own painting, since fancy texture stuff (normal, specular, parallax maps and all that jazz) weren't used much at the time. Morrowind for example is one of my favorites because it feels like I'm playing through an old oil painting.

They don't care/have the ability. Many indie devs are basically theater kids who make games, you won't really find the old school engine programmer types much.

I remember this crap and how it was originally called "Bloodborne kart" or something along those lines. I thought it went nowhere. It was more of a meme game on the followup of the people that made a kart game on the Dark Souls engine.

Still, the shitty memes and "pop culture reference" are something i'm truly fed up and annoyed with. Not only their shitty internal jokes but also things that break inmersion really hard that these people are funny. They are capeshit brained to the point they cannot commit to the bit even for a second without making a joke to break the tension or their need to harp more popular shit.

Is it just me or does the troonborne remake look more similar to DS games than psx games?

tbh it does look like Hotel Dusk's misshapen trooned out brother more than a PS1 game.

Like @Hypercop said, there is a striking difference between troonslop and PS1 games. Not only the details on surfaces but also the movement and character models. In troon games they feel unnecessarily clunky and bulky

It feels like a lack of self confidence. They seem so worried about writing anything sincere, they have to wrap it in layers of references, "politics" and self decapitating humor so it cannot be really criticized.

It's also because they have nothing interesting to say. I remember the 2008-2014 era of weepy "sincere" indie games and you could tell that they were made by the most sheltered little wet blankets on earth.

Kind of glad you brought up the Bloodborne Demake becase had to find a good screenshot because once again my tism is triggered by these clowns lol. PS1 Graphics doesn't mean low poly and I can't help but to be a little annoyed at how it basically became that by lazy indie developers.

He has a thread here, btw.

The 12 fps choppy psuedo-2D jittery bullshit seems to be the next style that troons are going to be circlejerking to death.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=aQoEd5rnxiQ
I've even seen it paired with the shitty low poly sloppily textured models too. This style is so easy to do wrong and when it's done incorrectly (99% of the time) it looks like absolute dogshit.
Oh boy, I hate this choppy 3d trend. Also for a game? Sounds like a recipe for motion sickness.

A lot of these bands weren't this popular among the youth back then that they would appear on a 90s themed game. Seems very astroturfed, like a desperate take at the radio stations in GTA: Vice City.
