$7.99 for fucking Kraft shelf stable Parmesan cheese at the normal grocery store today, and I just had to laugh. This is poverty food that shouldn’t cost more than $2.99. It’s milk and salt and preservatives.

It’s also worth noting that while we pay these crazy prices, profits are up for every company. This isn’t just about gouging us now, it’s about finding out our absolute limit so the new minimum bar can be set. I doubt we’ll ever see gas under $3 in this country without a depression. Right now gas companies are gouging us while making record profits over a fake crisis so they can come back later like “ok they seemed to tolerate $5 a gallon, that’s our new minimum price.”
Unfortunately, the people who understand capitalism the least love it the most.
