What's the age cutoff for using the term avatar rather than PFP?

Avatar is just less descriptive. My PFP isn't a representation of me. I'm 70 years old, perhaps older, and I say PFP.

An avatar is permanent to that website/game, a representation of you. It doesn't change because you want to consistently present yourself through that avatar. That's what the word itself means.

A pfp is something you change willy-nilly, like an alias. It's something you're showing to the world but does not represent you specifically.

So if you never change it, it's an avatar. If you change it often, it's a profile picture.
