How Microsoft still hasn't gutted 343 after losing so much good will is beyond me. What work have they even done to prove they are competent enough to handle one of their most iconic franchises? You'd think after the backlash from Halo 5's shitty story they would hand the franchise to one of their many other studios.
But again, Microsoft is now pimping Halo out to Sony, so I suppose they don't really care enough at this point.

I still think Halo had the best armor, weapons and alien designs EVER. It used to be my favorite franchise but I haven't really considered myself a halo fan for over a decade now. It was like watching someone close to you fall into Alzheimer's, but enough time has passed that they have long since died, your memories have long since been forgotten and whatever remained of their body has already fossilized.

Microsoft is into it, in fact they are behind all of this, firing wagies is useless when the fags at the top can and will keep hiring troons and jeets, nothing will ever change.

Why would they do that? 343i is doing exactly what Microsoft wants (ESG, virtue signalling, etc.). Giving Halo to another studio would make no difference;
Microsoft is not interested in hiring people, they want temp workers that they can exploit to the maximum legally.

They actually did gut 343i. Not because they changed the studio name, but the top leadership got axed. Specifically Frank O'Connor. This doesn't actually help mind you, they just replaced them with executive randos from Microsoft HQ. The new leadership already proved they understand less about Halo than Frank ever did. In fact, Frank's mutilation of the series only further inshitifies what ever Halo Studios is planning to do sense they are likely going off of the example 343i set. If they hired someone who actually cared about Halo, i.e. Long time fans of Bungie Halo, they would know to axe anything Frank\343i did out right and not try to salvage anything. Because there isn't anything to begin with.

Yeah the entire studio is irredeemable and needs to be completely annihilated. Replacing the diversity hire head with another and changing their name accomplished nothing.

Here's what Microsoft needs to but won't do

If they want to continue Halo they need to make sure the team is competent. Let them loose and give them 2 years to make an original IP while prototyping the design for the next Halo. If the game is good then give them the greenlight. Do this with a couple teams, just prototype work. Have them duke it out. The first games may crash and burn or they might succeed, but the important bit is judging competency. Halo is a much more expensive project to fail then smaller games like this. Think State of Decay or something like that. Best case is that the game or games are good and they have another IP, but you have to make sure that the team is competent and can put something out.

Look at Halo 4, look at the Perfect Dark reboot, that shit didn't work. And while it might seem silly to dawdle on smaller games, the problem is that no one under Microsoft big or small seems to be competent enough with any of these projects. Right now Microsofts biggest brand is going to die, and they have shown that they learned nothing really

The time to do this was before HALO Infinite, when people still gave a fuck, and they could lean on the MCC to prop the brand up while they cooked.

Now? Too late. HALO as a brand and lifestyle is dead, and the dudebros who remember the XBox days are all aging out.

Kiki Wolfkill has left 343/Halo/Microsoft. She was head of media (so Halo TV show...)
More big corporate shakeups are happening inside Microsoft. Kiki Wolfkill, art director, producer, and veteran of the Halo franchise and other big Xbox properties, revealed she's left the company as of April 17
Wolfkill dropped this bombshell on her LinkedIn page (via PC Gamer). She posted the following message:
After 28 years, I've made the difficult but exhilarating decision to leave Microsoft! Friday was my last day at a place where I grew up and learned so many invaluable lessons - how to listen, lead, be accountable, and most importantly, to care deeply for who you serve - your team and your audience. I'm so grateful for the opportunities that Microsoft has given me and the career that it let me build in an industry that I love.
At the same time, there is a version of me outside of Microsoft that I'm excited to grow and evolve. I have so many learnings to carry forward and more impact to be made and I couldn't be more inspired to climb the next mountain! More to come on that front 🙂
In the meantime, to all the people with whom I've worked with and around over the last 28 years - a heartfelt thank you for your partnership, wisdom, mentorship, and camaraderie. What a gift the last 28 years has been... thank you, thank you, thank you 💚
Onwards!
As she mentions in her post, Wolfkill was a mainstay at Microsoft for the better part of three decades. She rose to prominence in 2008 when she joined 343 Industries, eventually becoming 343's Head of Halo Transmedia and Entertainment. That put her in charge of, among other things, the controversial Halo live-action series on Showtime and Paramount+ (check out IGN's Halo Season 2 review for more). In 2022, Wolfkill was promoted to lead Microsoft's Xbox film and TV division.

There's no word yet on what might be next for Wolfkill and whether she plans on remaining inside the gaming industry. Either way, this is another big corporate shift for a company that's undergoing a substantial evolution in 2026. Earlier this year, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer retired from the company, while Xbox President Sarah Bond also resigned. In their place, Asha Sharma was promoted to become Microsoft Gaming's new CEO.

Sharma has wasted little time in instituting big changes at Microsoft, starting with significantly dropping the price of Xbox Game Pass. Find out why we think that's a great first step toward fixing Xbox's problems.

Here she is with Pablo Master Cheeks (now you know why he was nude)

Rebs says the Tatanka Battle Royale thing has been scrapped... because they're now planning to chase the extraction shooter trend instead.

Let's see how that's working out for Bungie:

Oh. Well I'm sure the geniuses at 343 will find a way to make it work.

343 has only ever chased trends.
Halo 4 chased COD crowd
Halo 5 chased the faster movement + mobility trend of Titanfall/COD
Halo Infinite chased battle royal trend and now extraction shooter trends.

Halo 1-3 were trend setters.

This reminds me of what was it, a Noclip doc about Half-Life and some bugmen was hypothesizing what a new Half Life would be and battle royals were in vogue at the time so he wondered if it would be that. The industry only has retards in it left
