The Vietnam War was an unprecedented debacle with actual serious politicians in charge of the entire federal government instead of the nightmarish clown show we have across all three branches right now. Trump did say he wanted generals who were as loyal as Hitler's.
Hitler's generals kept him out of the loop because he was completely useless to them leadership-wise. He wasn't told that entire battalions were eradicated and he continued to move their markers on the map like chess pieces.

Yes. In his infamous rant, when he found out that the generals lied about battlefield losses, Adolf Hitler notes that even the Waffen-SS lied to him. At the same time, the SS leader, Heinrich Himmler, was openly trying to sell the Third Reich to the Allies, saying that Hitler was either sick or dead, and that he was now in charge, wanting an alliance with the West against the USSR.
Kinda explains all the MAGA rats jumping off the ship and wanting to turn against Trump, as well as the conservative Supreme Court striking down Trump's tariffs. They can see the writing on the wall the same way the SS did in 1945, and they want to change sides so as to save their skins.

Given that the war lasted for more than a decade, from Kennedy unofficially starting it to Johnson and the Gulf of Tonkin and ending with Nixon...
Trump would've speedrun those guys, bombed a lot of innocent Vietnamese while going on TV and talking about how he's won despite no allies helping him. Then bow out in a month or two while still claiming he was a "winner" despite all of his losses.
Trump would've turned a decade long war into a few months of retardation before withdrawing as a "win" when nothing was really "won".

Sure, that's the explanation they gave, I'm more reacting to your framing of the German generals who lead the country into a brutal defeat (with two million rapes or whatever the final count was from the red army).
Hitler led a country from impoverished (in every sense) to a significant force, that he was excluded from something that went terrible is not a mark against him. But I'm genuinely uninformed on how much control he had during the war.

I think it's less remorse and him opportunistically turning against Trump now that Trump's popularity is in the shitter. Tucker had no problems with the mass deportation plans until the stark reality of it blew up in MAGA's face.

IIRC, from my limited history knowledge. Hitler may have been good at politics (though not so much in economics), but he was absolute ass on the military front. To elaborate:
The one thing that is definitely positively attributed to him militarily is that he loved Blitzkrieg (getting in there fast and holding the fuck on, like a pitbull on a 4-year old), which was definitely useful in getting Germany those early wins, both in France AND in Russia.
HOWEVER, Hitler was VERY emotion-oriented than actually pragmatic. For example, the German Luftwaffe was bombing the shit outta British airfields and air defenses. Churchill orders a small retaliatory strike on an airfield in Germany. Hitler gets ass-mad and shifts his bombing to civilian cities like London. The unfortunate effect of that is it allowed the Brits to fix their air-fighting capacity and get back in the fight which they were struggling before. Another thing was the guy HATED to be told he was wrong or that the German army was losing. As I said, the man told them to hold the fuck on. This meant they couldn't retreat, even if they should've due to lack of supplies (will get into that later). This led to the biggest setback for the German army when they got assfucked at Stalingrad. Which, funnily enough, Hitler attacked, not so much because of it's industrial value, but because it was named after Stalin, which Hitler didn't like.
Hell, he even compounded on that retardation by sending troops from the Caucasus oil fields (which were the ACTUAL target of Operation Blue), and lost it all.
His biggest blunder was declaring war against the US when he didn't need to; though that was definitely a mix of emotion and poor tactical thought (since American lend lease ships were being escorted by destroyers that were allowed to engage U-boats that tried to attack; Hitler probably thought he was already on a war with the "mongrelized" Americans. Either way, that was probably one of the biggest "shit the bed" moments of his entire life, as it led to the whole "war on two fronts", Americans taking daylight bombings while Brits did nighttime ones, and basically, fucking the Germans in the rear while Russia took them from the front.
His final blunder was spending an assload of money on research for German Wunderwaffe like the V-2 rockets or the Tiger-2 tank. Don't get me wrong, those were some powerful weapons and marvels of engineering. But the unfortunate truth was that the amount of money spent on them would've probably been better spent on trucks and planes and shit the Germans needed. For example, for every Tiger-2 tank made, you had the US making something like 100 Shermans or the Russians making 200 T-34s. And the side-effect of the wunderwaffe wasn't just the amount of money and resources going into them; it was also their limited mobility and resource drain. The Tiger-2 tank was twice the weight of a Sherman or T34, which made it consume more fuel, and made it hard to cross soft ground or certain bridges and shit, which the allies had no problems over. On top of which, fixing an allied tank on the field was MUCH quicker and easier than fixing a Tiger-2. In spite of all of that, Hitler poured a lot of the German treasury into making these Wunderwaffe and other prestige projects out of emotional attachment and vibes than anything.
Now, with that said, one thing to acknowledge is that there were other problems than JUST Hitler. The German army had logistics issues (they were still depending on horses to deliver shit, while the Americans, Brits and Russians were using American trucks for quicker deliveries. The US industrial might was a juggernaut; think by the middle of the war, it was churning out more fighters than the ENTIRE AXIS production line. And finally, Hitler's generals were pretty damn good. BUT, they also had a lot of their own issues. They were the kind which were "great at winning battles, bad at winning wars" sorta folk (another reason why they lost Stalingrad, despite killing something like 300K more Russians than German deaths.). They focused on tactical advantages and wins than overall strategy and how to essentially "win the war"; which really ended up biting them in the ass.

TL; DR: Hitler was definitely a detriment to the war and some of the shit he did was egregiously bad. BUT he did help pull off the early wins thanks to blitzkrieg; AND even if he had listened to his generals, the other issues of the German army don't make it look like they would have won. They probably would've pulled the war on till about 1947-48, though; with a lot more losses on both sides.
Tucker is nothing if not opportunistic. He probably decided to cut and run the moment it looked like Trump was no longer winning; though given the shit he'd been pulling since the Putin interview, it's likely he wasn't all that 'pro-MAGA' when it was a choice between Donny and whoever else was funding him.

That's the main difference between Hitler and Trump. Hitler was actually charismatic and built a brand from the gutter to the halls of power. Trump on the other hand, has all the charisma of a vodka addict, and did nothing but wreck what better men than him had built.
If he wasn't from a wealthy family, no one would give a shit about him.
