Christian theology thread for Christians - Deus homo factus est naturam erante, mundus renovatus est a Christo regnante

Nigger you pray to her, depart from me, I never knew you.
I do pray to the Saints as all Christians in the past have done, and all Christians in the present do, but I do not pray to Idols, so I wouldn't know what you are exactly referring to
If we want women to be modest, we must first change the culture to be more modest. (This was true decades ago in American culture. We can make it like this again. We must first stop glorifying endless sex.)
well it's a chicken and egg scenario. Women dress immodestly because of the culture? or did women create an immodest culture by dressing immodestly? I think they go hand in hand
We ought to destroy pornography, condoms and the pill, divorce, sex outside marriage, and masturbation, but if we can't start as something as simple as women dressing properly, then how are we going to combat all of the other complicated things?
vailing is an ideal, but not something per se immodest to not do so. Muslims countries have an admirable tradition that they been able to keep up in the vailing of their women, and if they can continue, good! That's my point

Christ doesn't share his title of Lord or his glory, cope in the Catholic thread about how the true church sacrifices Christ every week because it wasn't enough the one time.

I don't know how it is in your churches, but here in France, Christian women are dressed modestly. Of course, it's not the case for the non-religious ones, but I don't think having women to wear a veil in churches would change anything.

Of course, we have to work to make our societies more modest as a whole, but it's absurd to say the Muslims are doing better than us in this regard. Here in France, our foreigners are mostly Muslims, and their girls aren't more modest than ours. They are probably worse than French girls on this aspects, since they vastly relies on the cultural identity forged by Rap music and their glorification of whores and sex.

It is not a fetish to want women to not dress like whores
I don't know where you live, but you're either in a very specific cultural bubble that only exists in brothel/bar-infested neighborhoods, a gym (everyone stares at themselves there, so it doesn't actually matter; funnily enough I've seen men watching themselves in the mirror dozen times more than women) or you are simply lying. I'm an artist, consciously staring at people 24/7 on streets for doodle practice and referencing is basically a habit of mine. Virtually every single woman with only 2-3 exceptions over the span of years, was a normal looking woman. Literally half of the population on the streets, passing by, are middle aged women or older, they have zero reasons to dress whatever way you say they do.
and their current influence and role in society is killing our Nations.
Yeah, it's women's influence currently making Russia to rot from the inside. Uh huh. Sure. Putin is a pooner, confirmed. IT infrastructure is getting dismantled by women, they're the ones responsible for actual digital state terrorism and an ongoing war.

This has to be a ragebait, or you have escaped the insane asylum, no inbetween.

He's doing his Catholic duty and defending Islam, the second most successful heretical religion.
I'm usually not trying to fuel interdenominational fights (considering that I still respect various Catholics I know, I read/watch them as well, keep an open mind, etc) but he truly isn't beating the allegations for sure... He's like that gnostic weirdo we had recently, except the gnostic weirdo was a stereotypically demon-possessed schizo, and he's like a Protestant caricature of Catholics made to intentionally spark hate against them. Kiwifarms is a comic book/cartoon at this point. Or an interactive early Homestuck adventure...

What are the "allegations" about Catholics in America ?
Since we're the vast majority of Christians in France, I almost never hear what other denominations thinks of us.

It's the basic divide between Protestants and Catholics, Salvation by grace of God and faith in God's Son alone is the big chasm. I look down on having a man supposedly in a direct line to Simon Peter as an intermediary of God when we have the Holy Spirit. Worshipping and praying to Mary violates the other 2 solas, which are that Christ is the only way to the father and that all Glory belongs to God alone, not the "Mother of God".

During the Spanish Civil War, a large majority of women sided with the Nationalists for Catholicism; it's not inevitable the end of history that makes women become vehement liberals, but the modern education and social norms that causes it.
I think women just go with the flow of society, whether it be TRVDitionalism or suicidal progressivism. As the pendulum swings back to the right, expect to see a lot more TRVD E-Girl whores LARPing as Christians.
Taken from an Indian, but still serves as a good example.

Can't say anything about America specifically, but basically he's been saying really stereotypical things that are usually attributed to Catholics worldwide, likely true to most places where they're not a majority from personal observations. The whole barbaric mindset and shilling for jihadists basically, even though nothing about it is Catholic in nature. (If anything, this should likely be a Protestant stereotype, namely assorted Anabaptists come to my mind. They're not jihad terrorists for sure, yet it seems that their morals are still somewhere in Medieval Europe.)

Also, this is anecdotal, but still: my friend, who is in spiritual search was considering joining Catholic church and people he met there were... Well... Similar to the stereotype in that regard. A lot of aggressive ethno-nationalists, a lot of general hatred towards women as well. What personally stood out to me was condemning abortions while actively supporting wars. Basically these guys seemed to be death and torture obsessed, just like this dude in our thread was saying something about women getting rightful punishment through painful birth, some of them were talking about how women's duty is to die in childbirth and man's duty is to do get murdered in another gay ass war "for your country". I don't know how can anyone have such a poisoned heart and call themselves a Christian.

Worst part is that Catholics are a small minority here which makes this amount of weirdos a bit alarming. I don't know more details, such as whether priests were aware of this or not (seemed like they were but just didn't care?), but my friend went to various groups and churches from different cities and he was really disappointed by encountering some of the worst individuals in his spiritual journey ever. There seemed to be an extreme "anti-sjw" trend among them, for lack of better term. Anything that isn't this batshit mindset is "too liberal".

I think the reason why it's a stereotype of Catholics is related to the idea of heavy devotion to authority - in the case of this stereotype, the Pontiff - that would not be true of such Protestants. All of what you stated would tie in with such a devotion.

I'm not sure it's a women-only phenomenon. Most people just go with the flow.

Didn't know this was a real problem in some places. Here in France, those ones are mostly found in Sedevacantists sects, and we don't see them often.

It's strange to me how far my spiritual life is from that stuff. Joining the church is one of the reason I'm way less violent and hateful in my political stances. I think 2/3 of the people I talk to in my Catholic social circles are women, and I don't think I've ever heard anything against women from a Catholic IRL.
I think Catholicism may attract "trad" oriented people in countries where Catholicism isn't the dominant Christian denomination, and those "trad" are coming from hateful places. We should pray for them to find peace.

The idea of Christians being an extremist faith is mostly associated with Protestants here in France, since we mostly know them from Internet, and Internet mostly shows the worst parts of them.

I go to a Southern Baptist church, and the focus is on small group bible study, which occurs directly before the sermon; this approach lends to a closer bond between the 20 - 30 people in the group because there is ample room for discussion and response, where you are generally silent during the sermon.

The problem it presents is the creation of cliques within the church, but that is something that can be mediated through broader church events, usually focusing on the youth and various camps, vacation bible school and other ministries that are always looking for volunteers.

I see Catholics as an amalgamation or corporate blob with a singular identity that must be adhered to, where Protestants are more open to discussing scripture and how to interpret verses amongst themselves... basically Protestants assume we all have a mind capable of reading the scripture and sharing how it interacts with our personal testimony, Catholics assume everyone is stupid and are milk-Christians with no teeth or even appetite for meat, so the mass must be told things in very simple terms or they might get confused as to why there are maggots in the living flesh of Christ during communion.

That's not the case, it's sad you thinks so low of us. I don't see the Catholic Church as something that doesn't allow differences or discussions about the scripture, and that's not how it works with the other Catholics around me. I see it more as a spiritual guide, a 2000-years old institution full of people who dedicated their whole life to Christ, produced analysis of the scriptures and preserved the faith through the ages. I refer to it when I don't know something, or to have the point of view of someone who spent way more time and energy than me to understand something. And so far, I've been convinced by every explanation I've heard from the Catholic Church.
I don't think Protestants are stupid either. For the anecdote, I'm in a group of young Catholic adults, we organize events with a mass, a dinner and a conference about some aspects of the Faith. Lately, we wanted to have a conference about the Reform, we asked the female pastor of the local Protestant temple, and she came to eat Pizza with us and to talk about her faith. No one was disrespectful, and it was a chill evening.

I've never been to a Catholic mass, or anything related besides the take-away fish fry, partly by choice... in America as I'm sure it happens across the world, kids are often going to be whatever denomination their parents are. My mom is Protestant and converted my dad when she was teaching English in China in the 80s, she doesn't even like the Methodist church as it's too Catholic adjacent.

I only went to church for the youth activities like ski trips, camps, etc. I had no real interest in God other than making deals with him to get me out of trouble (never worked). Quit attending church for half my life during and after my colleges, only within the past 6 years have I been brought back into the church life. Catholics seem to just make what is already hard enough (Loving God with your whole heart, mind, body, soul / Loving your neighbor as God first loved you) even harder with rituals, icons and a whole lot of goofy stuff that I see the Catholic Church present to the public as if it's normal.

I grew up in a non-Christian family, I've been coming to faith on my own in the last few years. Catholicism was the obvious choice here, since so much of Christianity in France is Catholic, and so far everything I learn about Christianity makes me feel like it's the good choice between the different denominations.
I was intimidated too about the liturgy and the amount of stuff going on when I came to my first mass. Since then, I learned everything I needed to know about mass, and now it feels instinctive, I know what to say, what is happening and when it is happening, and it feels easier to focus on prayer and my own internal spiritual life since everything is happening as always. Also, it's beautiful, the songs (often in Latin here) are great, the old church with its stained glass makes the whole place going coloured with the sun, the solemn aspect of the mass, every of those things help me to discharge from distractions and to focus on the Christ and His love for us.
