Crime D4vd Arrested for Murder of Celeste Rivas - Groomer turned baby mama murderer finally gets comeuppance

Singer D4vd has been arrested for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was found dead in Hollywood in the trunk of his Tesla in September.

According to the LAPD, D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested by the Robbery-Homicide Division for the murder of Hernandez and is being held without bail. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they were investigating a trip the 21-year-old took to the Santa Barbara area sometime during the spring of 2025 following Hernandez’s death. A spokesman for the musician said in September that he was “fully cooperating with authorities,” though as of Nov. 18 NBC Los Angeles reported Burke was no longer cooperating with law enforcement.

Officers were called to a tow yard on Sept. 8 following reports of a foul odor coming from the car, which had been on the property for several days. Police found a dismembered body that had been placed inside of a bag in the front trunk of the vehicle.

The car was registered in Hempstead, Texas to Burke and impounded after being abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, where neighbors complained of a rotting smell. As of Sept. 9, the case was being treated as a death investigation.

Hernandez was reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, Calif., last year. She was last seen in April 2024, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. After her body was found, police said that because a manner of death had not been determined.

Shortly after the discovery, Burke quietly canceled his U.S. tour and postponed the promotion of his deluxe album.

Thats a fair point but what I don't understand is why they couldn't spend this time building a strong case while he's in jail under suspicion of murder.

You can be arrested and charged with a crime long before they have to indict you on it, and you can be denied bail during that time if you pose a reasonable risk of fleeing the country or harming others. He fits that bill.
In a sane state, that would be routine procedure. However, this is Los Angeles. The rules are simply different for people with money. If I must assume a more reasonable explanation, I'd say it's because they only had circumstantial evidence and nothing forensic/definitive. It's clear to anyone who isn't blind or stupid that he killed that girl, but if you hold and imprison him on suspicion of murder it's better to have some kind of concrete physical evidence or reliable testimony linking him to the crime. Who knows. Maybe this is all a prelude to the pedo skating off of sheer procedural complacency and terrible police work.

Very obvious what went on and what happened.

I don't think the stupid fuckers online trying to play armchair detective and straight up spreading false info helped the cops with this situation, along with general LAPD incompetency and "ma sun dindu nuffin yall keep a kang down!!!1" bullshit his family tried.

Tl;dr for those who don't know the full story and don't wanna read the article: Pedo nigger rapper raised by well-off fundies groomed, and abducted a 12-year-old girl, murdered her roughly a year later, left her rotting in the trunk of his car for possibly months, and wrote several songs basically self-snitching about the entire thing.

Also, the girl's family are shady, too, and it's unclear when she was exactly murdered as the last confirmed sighting of her, and possible digital evidence of her being alive are months apart with the latter being the final one, and that itself also being several months before her body was found.
I suggest torturing the pedo nigger until he confesses what happened, but we don't live in a just society anymore.

Nope. They actually 'cleared' him as a suspect for a while (public statement made by the department.)

Nope.

I guess they finally pulled their heads out of their asses or got the go-ahead from the PTB to get him.

He did it. 100%. There's too much creepy pedo shit around how he treated the victim and the lyrics he wrote for it not to be him. I'll eat my fucking hat if they find another killer.
He is just the next Fatty Arbuckle, many such cases.

Arbuckle didn't even go to trial. It's entirely possible he didn't kill and rape Virginia Rappe. We'll never know.

By contrast, D4vd wrote THIS:

:stress:

Her dead and dismembered body was found in his car.

How is that not at least enough evidence for suspicion of murder?

I feel like I'm experiencing the Patrick's Wallet meme.

Like I said, you're dealing with Californians, not normal people. That's the key difference. I entirely agree he should have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

It took long enough. This child rapist, murdering nigger committed one of the most blatant murders I have ever heard of, and California used every excuse it could to drag its ass for ages. It was to the point that I genuinely thought this evil nigger got away with such obvious murder just because he is brown.

There is so much incompetence on display in this case.

The police are incompetent for not arresting him sooner, like right after the body was found. He is incompetent for using his own vehicle to hide the body and for writing multiple songs betraying his motive. She was incompetent for thinking it was a good idea to date this psycho killer, and her family was incompetent for not stopping her.

It is only because of the collective incompetence of all other parties involved that the incompetence of the police didn't result in him getting away with it anyway. Though we cannot rule out some new incompetence from the justice system leaving that door open.
At this point, I fully expect him to get off on some retarded bullshit so he can be freed to rape and murder another kid. The only reason I can't say that for certain is because he is being held without bail, which is shocking considering he is a black and in California.

To keep someone in jail longer than 72 hours you have to charge them. Like say they actually did it. Suspicion is not enough. Investigating is not enough.

Finding a dead body in an abandoned car that belonged to him is not enough. A defense attorney would tear that indictment apart

but like what more evidence did they want if this wasn't deemed sufficient for an arrest? His songs are practically a signed confession.

Ughhh…could you just google what a DA needs to charge someone for murder in California at least before sperging?
So arrest him and charge him with something they can easily prove, like abandoning a vehicle with a corpse in it, and then build the murder case while he's locked up and no longer a risk of flight or further violence.

Are you saying there's no obvious crimes when someone finds a dead body in his abandoned car?

Beyond that, what good does a months long investigation do if he flees the country or kills someone else in the meantime?

I'm right there with you, brother. I have no idea why they didn't drag his ass in to hold him for 48 hours and question him, or why they never marked him as a flight risk when he's a touring musician. Ultimately the songs, the Discord servers and the stream clips which CLEARLY show this nigga is insane are not enough to arrest and charge someone over, no matter how bad a picture it paints. They need something more. Here's a shitty quick summary of what it takes to actually be charged with murder:
In Los Angeles (California), a murder charge requires minimum evidence demonstrating a person was killed, the defendant caused the death, and the defendant acted with malice aforethought. Evidence often includes forensic data (DNA, ballistics), eyewitness testimony, or defendant statements.
So arrest him and charge him with something they can easily prove, like abandoning a vehicle with a corpse in it, and then build the murder case while he's locked up and no longer a risk of flight or further violence.
"Are they stupid?"
-Everyone watching cops work since the beginning of time.
They never do, many such cases.
No, this rape ape definitely did it. There's way more evidence for him being a kiddy diddling psycho than Arbuckle killing a woman with his fat rolls.

for writing multiple songs betraying his motive.
Those are not going to be used as evidence. Basically rappers self snitching has became such an issue that a few years ago Newsom signed a law in that would prevent creative works (namely rap lyrics) from being used as evidence in trial. Because the Dems will always prioritize protecting criminals than the rights of citizens.

Edit: Fun and fitting for the thread

Look the problem with just arresting him for something else is he just bails out. Because you can’t just keep him locked up like that. Also judges tend to look down on it

Fuck just say you don’t know how the legal system works and maybe get into I dunno baby’s first Law & Order season. Fuck better than nothing

I mean I barely know how it works but I know this much.

I don’t like it but that’s how it was made to work. They didn’t have enough to hold him till now. And like I said all the stuff before. LA is buddy buddy with celebs. And doesn’t like going hard on very public cases they might get embarrassed in by a super defense team.

he just bails out
Him bailing out is still better than doing nothing. Believe it or not I do have some familiarity with the justice system through volunteering for Church run prisoner, and former prisoner, outreach/support programs like visiting prisoners who have no one else to visit them, or working with released prisoners trying to reintegrate into society.

When someone is out on bail they are subject to the terms of the bond, and a pretty standard term is not being allowed to travel outside of the state, another is some form of regular check ins or other such monitoring.

Of course that doesn't guarantee he wont flee, but it does add barriers to him fleeing and provide a formal system by which fleeing is an additional crime with established recourse.
