Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

actually, the obama nuclear deal money was also just iran's assets being unfrozen and returned. it's a common misconception about the deal that we just paid them a bunch of taxpayer money
Incorrect, it was tax payer money from the federal settlement trust fund.

Some of it was a return of assets left "on deposit" from the Shah to pay for weapons including a batch of undelivered F-14's Iran was always butthurt about. however the bulk was due to a DOJ settlement that could have simply be left frozen and sanctioned in the US as leverage.

Obama didn't have to convert it to untraceable small bills, swiss francs, and gold, but he was a muslim double agent out to destroy america.

Iran's near-total Internet blackout has surpassed 1000 hours (vaguely 42 days), pushing the record further for the longest Internet blackout on this scale.
The domestic internet still remains, though it is almost entirely cutoff from the global Internet. To provide context, even a few hours of partial disruption is ordinarily a big event.

Footage recorded by al-Jazeera shows widespread destruction in the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar following Iranian strikes.
Here's the full segment on Al-Jizzira, now that mommy and daddy (Qatar & Iran) are fighting they decided to start also showing proof of Iran hitting civilians in Qatar along with the aftermath in Al-Udeid.

Does anyone know if the Iranians still get international TV? I'd heard at some point their jammers had been hit and people could get international news.

Even assuming the USA washes its hands of the Persian Gulf, Iran has basically made mortal enemies of the Arabs. They clearly want to go 9th century on the Persians at this point. The Omanis might not be able to keep neutrality either, considering how quick the IRGC was to declare sovereignty over their own territorial waters. Trump is if nothing else a chaos agent. At this point the world really needs to beg the USA to stay involved in this mess, because if we pull out, we are looking at a regional cold war at best that will render the Persian Gulf impassable for a generation and at worst the eruption of a race war between the Arab Sunnis and the Persian Shia.

And unlike westerners, the Middle East has no restriction on going immediately genocidal in their wars. If the US Marines captured the Iranian Islands, the locals would be told to stay indoors and wait for freedom and mcdonalds. If the UAE and Saudi Arabia take those Islands, every man, woman, and child would be dragged out of their homes and shot. And if the Arabs ran out of bullets they would beat the Iranian islanders to death with the butt stocks of their rifles.

Then they would import Bangladeshi slave labor to bury the bodies at sea and erect some luxury apartments. That they would then sell to wealthy Brits who don't want to pay taxes to give Pakistanis free healthcare.

That's why several countries, including England and Canada, voted to allow the IRGC to be part of a committee for women's rights at the UN today. They need to teach these evil Gulf States how to show some respect for the fairer sex.

How is either side going to be able to verify that what Pakistan is actually telling them what the other side said? Do they have some handwriting expert verifying the notes, or is it seriously just some Paki scribbling whatever he thinks the other side wants to hear?
That's how I figure we got into this situation in the first place given how Lebanon, taxing, and whatever else had all the disagreements at the beginning of the ceasefire. Looks like Pakistan is so eager to play peacemaker that everyone rushed to the table without ever realizing that what both sides want is so far apart that any agreement is out of reach if they can't even get the short term issues that broke out after the war began sorted.

I don't see a world where Iran caves as much as we want them to, it was bad enough trying to get them to cooperate with the previous shit deal. There's no way they walk out of Pakistan with a deal that's paying them and if they do then we got other issues. I guess we'll just have to see how their infighting plays out and if Khamenei jr. regime is actually worse than the fathers.

Any link? Every source I'm seeing says it was frozen funds.
Edit, I'm reading that the 1.7 billion that was delivered in cash was for the military contracts you are talking about and like 50 billion was foreign escrow accounts for oil sales to those countries as well as just straight up foreign currency accounts, 22 billion from Chinese banks that was building project collateral, and another 30 billion that lran had tied up in a European subsidiary of their state oil company.

The Pakistanis at a minimum view this whole dog and pony show as a massive boon to their Izzat. It's worth it to entertain the procedure for now since they are allied to the Saudis. If Iran blows this up by being retards it will only benefit America.

This sounds like bullshit but it's somehow even more of a farce. Iran was elected 3 days ago (timestamp ~1:17:00) to the UN Committee for Program and Coordination which handles budgeting, resource allocation and coordination between the UN's different agencies.
The reason some people thought it was just a committee for women's rights is because they're meeting throughout next month to discuss gender equality and empowerment of women, terrorism prevention, human rights and disarmament.

This is on top of them being elected as vice chair to the UN Charter Committee and UN Commission for Social Development in February, immediately after they killed thousands of protestors.

U.S. intelligence indicates Iran still has thousands of ballistic missiles and could restore parts of its launch capability by recovering launchers from underground storage sites, despite repeated US/Israeli strikes throughout the war, according to WSJ, citing U.S. officials.
Let them dig and reposition. I think its been made clear that us and Israeli intelligence is such that it could scarcely help them.

i'm not trying to defend obama, his foreign policy, or even the wisdom of the JCPOA as a whole. (i personally doubt he was actually a muslim double agent, but i do believe he was an evil man like all of our elite uniparty bloodsuckers.) but regardless, the "DOJ settlement" you refer to was also for money owed to the iranians for non-fulfillment of contracts. all $1.7 billion dollars, from the $400 million federal settlement trust payments made in dollars, francs, etc., to the $1.3 billion dollars released to pay for nearly forty years of interest, originates in money owed to Iran. we didn't just invent a payment to buy the JCPOA.

The US has released $6billion of frozen Iranian assets as an incentive for Iran to go to the ceasefire negotiations.
Trumpbros what kind of 8d chess is this?
The time it takes to free up this money is longer than the time it will take to see if Iran is serious about negotiations.

The bombing can start again and the money withheld by Monday.
The gay one. You'll get no argument from me that that, at least, seems to be a disappointing cuck move (albeit still not on the level of Reagan fucking off from Lebanon after the Marine barracks bombing instead of using it as an excuse to do to Hezbollah what the Umayyads did to Muhammad's family); only ways I think it can pay off is if it actually gets the mullahs to capitulate at the negotiating table, or if the talks break down as I still fully expect it to, then Trump can point to it to say 'we honestly tried hard & in good faith but the other side are completely unreasonable fags and so we have no choice but to enact Total Shiite Death' when bombings resume after the weekend.
Releasing 6 billion in frozen assets is a big deal they better open the fucking strait.
Jesus christ. What is this cucking out bullshit.
MedMan reported it but he probably got it from MES as well. I was hesitant to post it but with the Iranian delegation finally going to Islamabad I took a chance that it might be true. The part about Qatari and Second Best Korea banks rushing to process the payment makes it sound legitimate. If it's bullshit I will post a retraction. Unlike the mainstream legacy media, I have standards.
It's apparently BS, but both sides are inclined to lie at this point. Still, I'd take America's word 1,000% over Iran's.

A week ago I would have said that the war was won and at this point we were just going for gravy, but if we let them get away with holding the strait hostage then I might actually change my mind here. The idea that Israel has to let up on Hezbollah or else Iran will block the strait is really, really bad.

Because if Israel isn't allowed to fight a hostile military on their border who has depopulated their north with constant attacks on civilians because Iran doesn't like it, then where does it end? Hey, if Lebanon nuts up (:optimistic:) and decides to wipe out Hezbollah then what happens if Iran says no? Iran is allied with Russia, what if they decide that Europe needs to stop supporting Ukraine?

It effectively makes Iran the world police. For my entire life the concept of America being the world police has been criticized, but now these same critics want to give that to Iran, and because they set up the global order in the first place and not because their military is by far the best in the world and certainly not because they have a history of doing a decent job with it in the first place, but just because they're willing to attack civilian ships if they don't get their way. This is such a bad precedent and anyone who thinks it's remotely justifiable is either stupid or just supports an Islamic world order.

We need to finish off this fucking regime. I really hope that we're not putting our eggs in the negotiations basket because letting them do this is actually worse than a forever war.

This is so hilariously evil and assholish until i realize that these cocksuckers were fed like pigs by the ayatollahs while my people starved and turned to drugs because of how shitty iran became under em. Fuck them. i hope their women whore themselves out for a piece of bread! After all, i hear Mia khalifa was a Lebanese too.
You can't blame Hezbollah for Mia Khalifa, she's just genuinely retarded. Her family are Christians who spent a lot of time in Israel. She even has the symbol of the Lebanese Forces, a Christian militia/political party closely allied with Israel, tattooed on her arm. Her head's just more fucked and pozzed than her worn out pussy.

It's so aggravating that a fucking government of almost 100 million people can't even make decent AI videos. They can be done well, that Chinese wuxia puppet one from a few hundred pages back was great.
