Happy to see prices are getting lower. Just bought a 64 serving jug of GNC protein powder for $72 when it used to be $90. Hopefully we can get it back down to $65 but its close enough at this point.

I think retards who went to college for retard degrees and are in over 60k debt for it and whining about paying it off should suffer. That's just how life is when you make retarded decisions. Maybe let them discharge it in bankruptcy, though, if it really is unpayable.
Anyway happy Easter.

imo the student loan situation only requires two changes
1) they should be dischargable in bankruptcy like any other loan
2) the government should stop guaranteeing them

market forces will take care of the situation and return it to a reasonable equilibrium if these state imposed distortions are removed

"There can be no fifity-fifty Americanism in this country."
It's a very old style of American Jew (or any immigrant really) that you don't see much anymore. It's Roosevelt seemingly not knowing or caring that he was (probably) a Jew. It's your Irish great-great-grandparents becoming indistinguishable from the Anglo-Saxon. It's just how Americans used to be.

Without the government guarantee, they for all intents and purposes will stop existing. Remember, the whole reason for (1) is students were defaulting at an insanely high rate. Ending the loan program is objectively a good thing IMO, but it's political suicide.

Don't DDOS (Distributed Denial of Shekels) the banks, you goys!
92% of all student loan debt is owed to the Department of Education, directly. Personally, I don't think that the government should be making money on interest by loaning money to people for schooling, so I'm 100% on making people pay back the principal loan amount only, and doing so through some negotiated garnishment possibly. That said, it's a bit of a mystery what would happen to those loans if the DoE was abolished...

I still cant get over that this is a real post by the president of the united states ON EASTER, trump is hands down the funniest president of all time, bar none.

Would the colleges and universities keep raising tuition so much if the loans weren't guaranteed? There's no risk to the schools if the loans are guaranteed, and so they jack up tuition rates to such an extent that the typical family can't afford it without a loan.

It's amazing how expensive things become once they're declared a right. (See healthcare, too.)

It's legit baffling to see how so many people from lefty redditors to hard right /pol/tards to take the "praise to be allah" completely seriously as if he wasn't just shitposting like he usually does.

Also, aren't we like almost 5 weeks in to the 6 week operation?, is it possible to carpet bomb a moderately large country like Iran in a week?, or are we extending the war by a few more weeks to compensate?

Trump's post was badly timed and written in poor taste, he should've posted it on Saturday or Monday.

I know he's being sarcastic, I don't really care. He's only provoking his naysayers and in fact proving them right in some ways.

Not a fan of it or his attitude this Sunday at all. 😑

The War Powers Act puts a limit on how long the President can unilaterally act as he has. That clock strikes at the end of April, which is why Iran is trying to stall and the media who wants us to fail are doing everything to erode support on possibly extending it. That said, Obama bombed Libya for 9 months straight because it was "a NATO operation" which is probably why Trump wanted NATO involved in Iran. It would give him the latitude to continue operations as long as he felt necessary.

So it was actually 8 weeks and the "4-6 week timeframe" was just disinfo to make the Iranians to think they will only hold out for that long when they ACTUALLY need to survive for 2 weeks more?, though I'm not sure if that extended time is that much of a gamechanger.
