A little, I like to think, witty title based off a song that was on Top of the Pops, called Doctorin' the TARDIS (RERUNS AND YOUTUBE, I'M NOT AN OLD DUFFER)...

But let's cut to the chase: if you were a companion of the Doctor, an incarnation of the Doctor him/herself, or any other freespirited Time Lord that doesn't have a hard-on for conquering, or erasing this planet, where and when would you like to check out?

One that's been on my mind, for example, is actually getting a view of how the Statue of Liberty looked, before it's copper frame rusted over, so, in that case, it'd be Paris, Panama, or New York, in 1886. Shipping, and logistics, and politics and so on, I suppose...

Nice one. And that'd be right where and when the 13th Doctor, Yaz, Ryan, and Graham, had to just sit there and do nowt, because of *11th Doctor voice* fixed time. It's especially worse for Graham in the episode, Series 11 - Rosa, because, and I might watch it back to get more of a refresh context-wise, he's a retired, bus driver, so it's either a case of him replacing the original bus driver, or he always was the bus driver - a bit like the Master being Grigori Rasputin. And maybe the 12th Doctor being Beethoven - or just simply writing his 5th in his stead, or helping him do that.

I'd like to see if I could find the historical Jesus and see and hear his preaching (I'm not sure, do we have to learn the language, or do they have some babel fish future tech, that allows me to do it effortlessly? I'm not learning Hebrew).

On the bright side, Aramaic still exists nowadays. Not sure where'd you go other than Ethiopia to learn it, though.

Assuming I could understand the people, communicate, and not instantly be deemed a suspicious psychopath I'd have loved to see Ptolemaic or Roman egypt.

This comment of yours reminds me of an audiobook, a 10th Doctor adventure I listened to as a kid, called 'The Stone Rose'. Sorry to spoil a bit of it, but one detail I really like about that story involves a soothsayer known as Vanessa. Nobody is suspicious, apart from the Doctor, who points out that Vanessa is a name invented by Jonathan Swift, and, on that notion, she's from a different time. You can buy the actual original book somewhere, but the audiobook is narrated by David Tennant.

What, the Cheetah People episode, with the Cheetah Planet... Dimension... what-have-you? The one where the 7th Doctor and the Traken Master Star Trek-style brawl to the death to cheesy late '80s guitar solos?

I'd probably go somewhere like ancient Greece and eat olives and not give a shit.
For touristing, maybe take a walk through the city of Rome in every perhaps 50 years of it's life span, to see the rise and devastation. See some of the great inventors like Galileo or Michelangelo do their stuff. I'd like to see if I could find the historical Jesus and see and hear his preaching (I'm not sure, do we have to learn the language, or do they have some babel fish future tech, that allows me to do it effortlessly? I'm not learning Hebrew). For the rise and devastation, I'd probably watch humans through the thousands of years, to see us evolve from animals to people and now back to animals again. I'd like to walk the earth, unscarred by people, see it's beauty without cities or villages, I'd be interested in seeing how those cities slowly cover the surface, if we can also travel into the future, I'd like to see where this ends, will we reach saturation and stop growing? Or will we make ever more efficient inner-city greenhouses and just cover the entire earth with one big megacity?

Fascinating time periods, interesting changes to things. Meeting of different cultures and development as time went on. Though the former covers a long period seeing greco-egyptian life would be fun to me.
