Today is also the day that SCOTUS will hear oral arguments on Trump’s EO reinterpreting of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment to exclude the children of illegal aliens born on American soil from automatic birthright citizenship. As it's been reported, Trump will attend the oral arguments, making him the first president to ever do so.

I was referring to the fact that the actions of a president inevitably influence the popularity of his party in the (immediate) future; if Vance was planning to run for president himself in 2028, then the actions of Trump alienating moderates *and* his own voterbase would severely cripple any chances JD has to claim the Oval Office for himself once this mandate ends.
