Just admit the writers don't know what they are doing. This story is dogshit.
you haven't played it, so what would you know.
Its a pretty good romp as far as FROM goes, the music is great, the characters are pretty good, especially in the DLC, and the bosses and their backstories are well laid out and obvious at a glance without too much digging.
Leads into this part of the actual game later

which further leads into the DLC where Radhan is brought back.

They all look like gay irish twinks and the creatures all look like they came from some pozzed mmorpg. My judgement is perfect. I don't need to play the game to make an accurate judgement of it.

Fromsoft fell off. At this point just watch sissy hypno, it's less shameful than enjoying this garbage

do ya know what its like trying to have a discussion or present something to someone, and he's just a snippy, dismissive, retarded faggot?

because that's you, your just that guy who can't enter any conversation or discussion without trying to be flippant and dismissive about everything, your entire life is just a waste of everyone else's time and effort, the ultimate Nigger behavior.

uh its not messy at all, the game is a loose allegory to the rise and fall of the Holy Roman Empire, and all the various factions, religions and institutions it rubbed up against, except in this case, many of them are straight up Eldtritch Outer God Envoy's instead of just human institutions, the World is a literal layer cake of many dead civilizations, some directly killed by Marika, each with distinct archeticture, Marika, became so Godly, that once she achieved The Rebus/The Great Work, was capable of reshaping the world and literally paved over other civilizations, burying some underground and cutting others OUT OF REALITY, out of sheer spite and hate (that's where the DLC takes place, in a sort of upside down, on the bottom of the world, outside reality chunk of land she sent away) and in fact, her power is so supreme she ended Death.
no one dies in the setting, they simply reincarnate directly, its actually a literal sin to Die, or "live in death" (Undead), This is all a sort of flip on a Jesus allegory, Marika is depicted as a sort of Jesus/Godly figure one with The Great Will (God) but in which Jesus took over the world instead of dying, her children all represent various biblical or other religious figures, with the most important, Miquella, being portrayed as the True Jesus, but is in reality, Lucifer, another is an expy for Vlad the Impaler, both his imagery and his mission of killing all the Muslims.

rambling a bit, but the setting is incredibly well done and consistent, despite all the various elements from real life used, its best described as a daylight horror game, since Marika destroyed the Sun and made it eternally "day", without the Sun's existence, sure there is a day and night cycle, but its just the Erd Tree waxing and wanning in terms of light, there is no actual Sun.
The original silent hill developers, team Silent wanted to make a daylight horror game oriented on shadows in a mid-day city setting populated with people for the PS3 generation before they were wiped out by konami. Elden Ring does have horror in plain sight the more I look back.

I think some of you have actual autism for responding to an attention seeking inflammatory /v/tard.

I concur with the principle yet you have reached an incorrect conclusion. It follows that your very nature is corrupt any you must be REMOVED #ontologociallyevil #eugenics

The japanese should be forbidden from writing anything about christianity ever
Doesn’t really bother me. Doing a surface level reference for the sake of exoticism is far less disrespectful than how Christianity is depicted in our very own culture (or in other words, no Jap has ever made a “Piss Christ” (or whatever kike equivalent comes to your mind))

After playing Lords of The Fallen, I've got a new appreciation for From. I usually don't bother with soulslikes outside of Nioh and I was reminded why.
It's because most developers just blindly copy the formula. My prime example is Hellpoint. The atmosphere is top notch and it comes really close to nailing the cosmic horrors sci-fi feel.

Unfortunately the devs spent all their time copying Dark Souls and gave zero thought to refining or improving on the formula. So it just ends up being a souls clone in space with all of the worst most annoying aspects of DS included and nothing new or interesting gameplay wise.

Elden Ring ruined so many potentially good games for me. The feel of the combat is just perfect for my retarded nervous system and now most other things feel wrong in comparison. I don't even have to play it, I can see it from a video.
ER's combat makes immediate sense to me in a primal sort of way. The rhythm and flow of it, startup and recovery frames, timing, animation and feedback of everything. Clearly a product of doing the same shit for years and perfecting what was already there. Of course a few weapons feel shitty but it's not really an issue since there's so many to choose from. I have many problems and complaints about ER but the main feel of the combat is tailor-made for me.

At this point, if I want to play similar games, I'm going to have to force myself to get over the issue. Might take a while, depending on the game.

(I know you didn't say the problem with LOTF was combat for you specifically, but that was my first reaction just from watching some gameplay. Something off with the rhythm and how things move)

Sekiro and Nioh 1 and 2 blow elden ring out of the water. There's many better combat RPG games.

I always dreamed about a Nioh 3 but I wish they spent more time refining it. Turns out Nioh 2 is already perfection.
In the Nioh games, you feel like the boss if you master your skill enough.

I thought it was clear I was talking about a very subjective experience. When something hits right, it hits right.

That said, I found it easy to get into Sekiro because it was so different. I don't think of it as a soulslike that much so I didn't have to compare it with anything. In fact the things I didn't like were some enemies better suited for souls games, such as the ogres. I fucking loved fighting the one-armed ninja bastards. The more Sekiro dared to be its own thing with swords clashing, the better it was.

Nioh is not for me, I'm afraid.

I will say that the game plays mostly like DS2. I'm not really against that idea. Your defenses are all pretty balanced and you're usually better off spacing things out as your dodge isn't that great. Unless, you just play unlocked, which gives you your big roll on a single press instead of a double and has tons of I-frames. However, just like DS2, you basically want to stun lock enemies to death as they'll immediately do an attack out of hit stun, and besides very specific enemies having a hyper armor move that they'll throw out you'll usually kill them just by that. This is even applicable to quite a few bosses. The really big issue is that the game is kinda running at DS3/Bloodborne speed for player and enemy movement while having DS2 levels of move commitment (note: not really swing speed so much as how locked into an attack animation you are). You can't even cancel the strong attacks of large weapons like you could in DS2. On top of the insane forward movement of some weapons, you lose a ton of control over your character every time you swing.
The world and level design is whatever. Ranges from BB's Forbidden Woods to that dragon temple side area in DS3 I can't remember the name of. Don't expect anything on par with Undead Berg or Central Yahrnam. You'll come across shortcuts that makes you wonder why they even bothered until you realize that it's there for when you're playing with a modifier that isn't even on by default. Umbral is a gimmick that's a bit like DeS World Tendency except you have to go in it, there's a timer or you fight hard enemies, and most importantly it makes this mediocre looking game run much worse than it should.
Multiplayer is broken for both co-op and PVP. You can be revived by each other in the shared progress co-op so many times that it completely smashes any semblance of balance. Each revives costs you one of your estus equivalents, but when the host is revived he comes back with full heals. If two people are playing and both have upgraded their heals to have 7 of them, the host can revive his summon 7 times per each life for a total of 56 times as his summon can revive him 7 times and he can revive on his first life 7 times as well. The only restriction to revives other than that is an enemy being near the corpse but they have to basically be standing right on top of it so it's very easy to drag them away and then run back for a revive. PVP is everything wrong with Elden Ring's projectile/L2 spam combined with DeS 99 full heal items.
Not gameplay related, but I have to say that the game has this really hardcore visual style it's going for but is pretty much a Weenie Hutt Jr.'s in terms of actually visceral stuff. You expect Bloodborne levels of "that's nasty" and it just never happens with maybe the exception of Tancred, but that guy's GOATed for another point on this games theming; namely that the Orius worshippers have terrible theming. Adyr is fine. Boring and safe but fine. He probably actually has the best theming in the game because of the fact you can see his corruption seeping into the church like the hands on Tancred's (the GOAT) armor. Umbral has hints of moth motif, but is mostly just flanderized Lovecraft eyes everywhere and flanderized Beksinski (people forget he did a lot of sci-fi stuff rather than just Hell). It's serviceable. Orius worshippers are just not!Catholics, but half their symbolism makes zero sense. Blood, sure, their god decapitated himself and his blood became the stars, the moon, and the sun. Why straight up Christian crucifixes? Why the stylized crucifixes at all? Sure, they look like the dawn and you worship the light and all that, but not a single body is crucified in the entire game. Why thorns? Why self-flagellation? Jesus was whipped and had a crown of thorns placed on his head, not Orius. Why is there zero ritualistic beheading or neck slicing in a fanatical cult that worships a guy who cut his own head off? Why is there barely any sun, moon or stars motifs outside of the stylized crucifix for the sun and a weapon and a shield for the moon? Why bells instead of any of that? It's just terrible.

Coward. It's fun and easy to learn.
