As I recall, the monarchy has been neutered to the point where they have no real power politically. I'm not sure how it works or if they can even take back power legally.

It's a classic case of leftist projection. Most gays are straight people who were groomed, so they're deeply afraid of a therapist making them or their victims straight again.

There are a few that were exposed to it but it's a lot more rare than people think. The really old school stuff was typical "what they do to people in asylums" shit in the mid century where they'd try to do some weird electroshock therapy but then there was those camps some people sent their kids to I don't think those included actual physical abuse or anything but was some sort of fat camp gay edition.

There is something these days adults can volunteer to seek out I'm not sure what they call it but basically it's standard therapy stuff trying to get through traumas and uncover how to deal with your shit. People can do that if they want but some people try to legislate against it even though it's just talk therapy and grown adults seek it out themselves.

It's projection sure but it's also a tool. Because seeming to be against shocking people with cattle prods makes you the bad guy. A lot of leftist rhetoric is about making their opponents seem needlessly cruel so that centrists or people already pro gay (or any other position) automatically take their side without real arguments being made. It's a decent trap and a lot of more conservative people fall into it because they're desperate to seem principled and erroneously believe they need to appeal to the left on the left's terms.

Not conversion therapy, per se, but i went to a few sessions with a therapist after coming out to my mother. However, my mother didn't want anyone to find out, so it was online therapy.

Therapist was a nice lady and we didn't talk about my sexuality much. She also stopped calling me after third session or so because our talks were literally "what did you do today?"

Non-governmental credentialing entities can still make "affirming only care" a criterion of getting or retaining a "fellowship" or being a "diplomate" of some professional organisation. The State just can't mandate it or prohibit an opposing viewpoint.

No, and the Petitioner agrees with the portion of the law that prohibits that old, discarded conduct. She has pleaded since the beginning that her treatment style is to help clients achieve their own stated goals. So if somebody came in with a gender-identity issue and wanted to transition, she'd help them achieve that stated goal. But if someone presented with the stated goal of NOT wanting to go down the tranny dead-end road, the Colorado law would have forbidden her from helping that client achieve his stated goal.

I'm a huge skeptic on whether adult sexualities can be changed "back" like that. I do think trauma plays a part (for some people, not all) but you can't put anything back in pandora's box you know. I'm all for people recognizing they may be making bad decisions around that though, like being hypersexual, and indiscriminate with partners because you don't have control over your impulses. But I point blank don't believe in "ex-gays" or anything like that. I also think that with out pozzed therapy and psyche stuff is as a profession anyone of any orientation looking to help control bad sexual behaviors is usually prompted to just "embrace" it instead. So it's a quagmire.

I think for minors it's already banned. But it probably depends on a state by state basis.

(I grew up in a religious background of the sort you were sort of aware some people sent their kids to those camps or whatever. Which is why I know about it.)

I have also went to a talk therapy like that when i was sixteen.

We mostly talked about how my day was rather than my sexuality. My mother was disappointed.
