Modding old Game Boys with fancy new OLED screens is a lot of fun and I would do a bunch and flip them if grey, unmodded, basic-ass DMG-101s didn't sell for an eye-watering $80 nowadays. Who the fuck is paying $80 for a dank-ass 35 year old Game Boy? They should be like ten bucks tops now. Palmer Luckey should send me a free Chromatic. And make it so they can do built-in save states. I love the idea of the Chromatic and its selection of new games, but just making a super nice version of a bare-ass Game Boy Color isn't enough for the modern day. It should be able to play as many other handhelds as possible. Like the Analogue, but made by Luckey and not those shady limey faggots. Games should also be on, like, full-sized SIM cards. With the dimensions of a credit card, so they're not so small you can accidentally lose one in your urethra but also so you can enjoy the artwork on both sides.

Or hell, you might not even need the contacts anymore. Just an NFC tag with plenty of storage. Surely those have comparable IO speeds and storage to a GBA game by now, right? Then you'd have a nice plastic card with your game on it that you could chuck into anything that can hold cards, or just keep in your wallet. Now that's a neo-retro collectible game format I could get behind.
