it used to be that public works projects rewarded white flight. if anyone here has had the (unfortunate) experience of driving on NYC parkways (particularly the ones that run out to long island) you may notice that all the bridges are unusually low and offer little clearance. you may say to yourself oh, maybe that's just an unintentional detail and a sign of the times. maybe vehicles back then were just smaller, maybe trucks had less capacity so overpasses didn't have to be built that high. NOPE. that was done intentionally by COOL GUY robert moses, who built the parkway overpasses intentionally low to keep niggers and other minorities out of long island. this is especially noticeable on the southern state parkway due to the fact that it runs out to jones beach. the theory was that if the bridges were built low enough the niggers couldn't take nigger buses to long island and nog up recreational areas and suburban neighborhoods. of course in modern times these ANTI-NOG measures have been counteracted but it's worth pointing out that even in modern times jones beach has way less nogs than other nearby alternatives.

Tri-rail is doing alright, they made a extension to downtown Miami recently since before it would only go down to the airport and you'd have to transfer to the metrorail to reach downtown. I think they completed it back in 2023.
I didn't even know Florida could have rail lines. I thought the water table was too high or some shit.

The metrorail is fully above grade which actually makes it cheaper to build compared to subways but requires more land acquisition. The tri-rail runs at grade on freight tracks.
I mean the choo-choo type of rail, not the sniff-sniff type of rail.
More of an intercity service but they keep adding stations along the route so it functions like one when you're closer to Miami.

I was joking about Florida not having any rails, but I didn't realize so many people on Kiwi Farms cared about trains. All I can say about public transportation is to never use the Boston subway if you value your life. It's a miracle that system hasn't killed anyone yet.
