In fairness, sir, those principled conservatives were pretty much 100% right about the masks. Unless you wore an N95 or a CBRN respirator with a full filter (I did this for a few shops for laughs), wearing a mask didn't do much to protect you, the Sovereign Individual, from catching viruses from others.
That's true, but their opposition was not based on any medical knowledge they had, it was totally rooted in Trump's petulance and desperation to stop the economy from seizing up right before an election. If he had endorsed lockdowns and triple masking, the people in A&N would be #zerocovid fundamentalists right now and there'd be a covid megathread full of complaints about back to work mandates and speculation about which Democratic politician has the worst case of long covid.
