I agree. That's why I didn't say 1st world nations would ween off of 20% of the total oil trade. I said:you can't just make countries wean off of 20% of the total oil trade that easily dog, and not only that much oil, the oil in and around the Gulf is apparently much cheaper and easier to refine, which is why the high oil-importing Nations of Asia like it so much, its the cheapest and easiest source of energy to buy in very large quantities, fucking hell, until we discovered fracking in the 2010s, a good portion of oil we had to import comes from this place as well, its just way too good to pass off.
If this doesn't motivate the 1st world nations to carve a different way to get oil out of that gulf, I don't know what will.
I'm talking overland routes or canals. Something that should have been invested in decades ago for this exact reason. A single point of failure for something that critical is dumb, especially when prone to Brown Islamists Wanting Nukes.
