Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

Remember, there’s a third dimension. Just because the explosion covers up the plane doesn’t mean that it hit it. I bet it exploded near the plane’s exhaust (suggesting IR) but did not touch the plane.

It’s a thermal camera. The small line is the missile and the big one is the exhaust.
then why does it seamlessly transition to a non-thermal shot for the image of the plane but thermal still for the explosion

the angle the missile is coming in on suggests it was fired from well in front of the plane. AA missiles engine's don't fire continuously, they glide after burning all their fuel. that's a big blob of exhaust heat for an AA missile a split second before exploding. and the plane's exhaust comes right out of the plane. and the exhaust from a missile, if the missile still has any exhaust at that point, shouldn't be an ovoid blob like that either. and there shouldn't be a black line around everything either lol. and the plane is just as white-hot as it's exhaust? lolwut? the missile is also as white-hot as that alleged exhaust? F-35 exhaust can go as hot as 1,300F. The upper range melting point of the composite alloys in F-35s is more than 100F lower. If that entire plane is the same color as its exhaust in a thermal camera image, the entire plane should be melting regardless of what any missile did or didn't do lol

Sorta. The idea (misconception) that the ping is clearly audible to the enemy (in a combat scenario...) and that is somehow then a major disadvantage because they know you're out of ammo...

https://youtube.com/watch?v=8YsYYywYFJoIan from FW addressed it too but can't find the video atm.
100% chance that asian League/Overwatch metafags came up with this.

My biggest question is if that video popped up before or after the news reports of the plane making an emergency landing started to surface?
If it came after, I could easily see them whipping up some quick shit to prove how cool they are, but it's hard to tell with how much the media is actively communicating with the regime like they're best pals.

got peppered by AA fire or a MANPAD.
I agree.

I think they were over-confidant from taking out their anti-air missile systems and big AA truck units while forgetting you can hide MANPADs and adjacents in a storage closet for the IRGC to fire as a last ditch attempt. Iran turned their Temu spike missiles into loitering missile drones and they've been quite effective at taking down the MQ9 Reapers so far.

I don't see how the plane and missile can both be the same pure white as their exhausts on a thermal camera, or why the plane and exhaust have a solid black outline like it's pre-CGI compositing or some shit lol

It does not seem do to this. The "sensitivity" adjusts near the end so the plane is considered less intense than the explosion and exhaust. I have trouble understand how the nose of the plane, exhaust, and "explosion remnants" get grouped.
the missile is also as white-hot as that alleged exhaust? F-35 exhaust can go as hot as 1,300F. The upper range melting point of the composite alloys in F-35s is more than 100F lower.
We are not familiar with the heat sensors on whatever filmed the video. They may have their "sensitivity" set up strangely to group everything with high emission into one band.

I suspect this video my be AI/CG post-processed to looks like IR. It has many strange attributes.
why the plane and exhaust have a solid black outline like it's pre-CGI compositing
It is not hard to do this in software. But this comment made me examine the footage closely, and I realized the outline appears on all objects. This is expected, but something stands out.
The exhaust of the plane becomes larger after the explosion. This can be hand-waved. However, the exhaust has a object-outline line down the middle, appearing as two roughly equal sized masses.
I am unclear on how this could be emitted from a single-engine F35. I will appreciate anyone with knowledge weighting in. I have not seen footage with these oddities before.

1) The whole plane appears to have the same IR signature, from the engine exhaust to the leading edge angles to the tailing edge angles.
The video isn't raw IR footage, pixel brightness has been post-processed so it looks good to humans. IR cameras unlike normal cameras don't use the full depth of the sensor at all times. Instead meaningful data tends to cluster around a small region of the available range. The F-35's temperature relative to its surroundings is going to be substantially hotter than everything around it. It's also far away so it takes up a small amount of the entire image relative to its surroundings. This means that the F-35's pixels are going to be an outlier in the image data. Whatever algorithm the Iranians are using likely just clipped the outliers to white during scaling. Its also likely this video is cropped from a much larger scene so the size of the F-35 relative to what you're seeing is misleading. You actually see more detail from the jet after the missile explodes because the F-35 is no longer an outlier in the image data since the explosion has heated up so much of the scene.

The only thing suspicious to me in the footage is the black outline around the plane. Assuming it's not some sort of contrast enhancement, it would mean there is a pocket of cold air around the jet for some reason. I don't know the physics of this so I won't speculate as to why that might be the case.

3) The missile impacts the jet directly.
I'm not sure this is true. From the footage we have we have these two frames from the explosion.
missile.png explosion.png
There's not enough information here to determine whether or not this was a direct impact. Since the jet survived, I think it's very likely not a direct impact, but rather the missile exploded close to the jet. The footage also showing the aircraft not being downed lines up well with what CENTCOM confirmed in the short time span this was being initially reported. To crank out a fake like this so quickly that gets so many details right while aligning with the facts we know to be true doesn't seem likely.

CENTCOM:
Prior to Operation Epic Fury, the Iranian regime used the Karaj Surface-to-Surface Missile Plant to assemble ballistic missiles that threatened Americans, neighboring countries, and commercial shipping.

The photo dated March 1, 2026, shows the plant prior to U.S. strikes.

The image dated March 11, 2026, shows the same location after U.S. forces struck the facility with precision munitions.

Damn, sure would suck if Israel happened to take out a bridge or two.

Or just bombed the convoy. Realistically what is Tajikistan going to do? Send a strongly worded letter?

That's the end of the explosion, when the explosion starts it's directly under the back third of the plane and obscures the entire plane. This is the closest I could get to the start:

btw what is that second object in front of the big one

kinda weird
Fwiw CENTCOM mentioned that a F-35 made an emergency landing at an allied base.

So, either Iran makes pathetically weak SAMs or the F-35 can take a licking and keep on ticking.

Either scenario is good tbh

Also, the F-35 is literally the F-16 of the 21st century, along with a Super Duper Harrier and a stealthy F/A-18.

It's going to get used and it's going to (eventually) get shot.

The fact that Iran hasn't been able to verifiably down and cause an ejection over Iranain territory in ~20 days of nearly constant airstrikes is NUTS.

There are a few tards who believe the Iranain BS that they've shot down many American and Israeli F-15s and F-35s (Tom Cooper comes to mind) but beyond a Kuwaiti wannabe Jihadi shooting down there F-15Es and a midair collision, there haven't been any Coalition jets lost in the air this entire war.

That is insane, as we've flown literally THOUSANDS of sorties.

35mm knocking out drones never gets old.
I really wish you would stop making the same posts over and over.

That goes triple for you fags that post the same thing in multiple threads.
Stud is a broken record unfortunately, you're asking the impossible

Guarantee you that if we could fast forward to ~6 months from now we'd all immediately see how ridiculous the "Forever War, Gas Prices over $10 gallon" claims are - from the usual TDS patients wishcasting failure for Trump since 10 years ago

this will go down as a Desert Storm, not the 2003-2010s Iraq War because Trump is a realist who doesn't care about bringing the sacred light of 'democracy' to middle eastern tribals

it's really that simple, I personally can't wait to gloat months from now about how overblown and histrionic the talk is from the left AND the podcast-right

Gas prices are still lower than they were during the Biden administration at least where I am. I’m not too worried about it.
Why does everyone forget about the Russian war in Ukraine? I swear the doom posters here must have been living off welfare and stuck in their house. Where i live the fucking price jumped by 2 dollars when Putin did his shit. I'm not worried about this conflict. Its gonna erode into Iran vs all of the gulf stats plus Iran infinite rebels bogaloo.
