US Active shooter reported at synagogue in Michigan: Sheriff - The Jewish Federation of Detroit said it's aware of the incident.

Authorities are responding to reports of an active shooter at a synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

The Jewish Federation of Detroit said in a statement, "We are aware of an active security incident at Temple Israel. Law enforcement are responding. Our Jewish agencies are currently in precautionary lockdown."

Looked up Bloomfield population is about 82% white, the shooter would have had to drive a bit if it really is like 20 miles away to hit the synagogue with there truck

Oakland county is where the whites and Jews went after (and before) the race riots. Dearborn was effectively shielded from blacks because a hyper racist mayor basically refused to let them move in and Arabs only got in because Ford needed workers.

Not a Jewish holiday and no reason that I know of for lots of people to be there.

They were shortly going to be running a food pantry today (due to open at 1445 local time) and were due to have an elderly workout class (due to open at 1330) - attack was about 1230 local time.

Perhaps they were planning to target volunteers who were setting up, with the assumption that there'd be less security outside of services.

Alternatively maybe they thought it'd be full of Hassidic men studying the Torah full time instead of working, which it wasn't, because it's a Reform synagogue.
