a couple more considerations about the current barneyfag on /int/
here you can see him misspelling "burn" because j is next to n on the keyboard, suggesting he types his spam manually
here you can see him wishing death to himself
here you can see him taking 4.5 minutes off to find out what an obscure south/east asian language is and that google translate has it.
did Lee historically switch his spam to other languages when asked to do so btw?
here he bumps leebait threads for up to 2 days straight instead of just spamming them. i doubt he woke up every two hours to bump the threads
coupled with the already-well-known fact that the current barneyfag looks nothing like the original Lee, i'd argue that the most likely theory is that it is not a bot but a human imitator using some degree of automation, possibly a custom 4chanX fork
now, imitating Lee to that extent would require a near-Lee amount of autism, which is not very common even on 4chan. So either someone almost as autistic as him picked up his crusade (i wonder what else he could have done in life with such dedication) or it is still Lee but with a completely different style. But how?
Indeed, a degree of automation could explain how the original Lee changed his style so much. maybe at some point he realized he didn't want to (or couldn't) keep spending 14 hours a day on 4chan forever but still wanted to continue fighting bronydom and keep up his legendary status. at the time AI wasn't widespread, so the result would have been the poor bot we see today with him still occasionally behind the curtains adding manual inputs or doing manual tasks while playing Doom; which is something he does all day so to the very least he's already on desktop.
this theory is also compatible with the famous 2020 "resignation thread" on /qa/ https://desuarchive.org/qa/thread/3686220 where he supposedly announced he would stop posting forever. That stache looks like his indeed but as one of the first posts says, it's not hard to believe that "The real Lee would never surrender". The idea would have been deviating attention away from him IRL to reduce harassing and attention while still maintaining the spammer as an anonymous entity, detached again from his actual identity like it was before the dox.
Notice how in the thread he says explicitly how from now the "style" will change drastically because of the imitator's poor skills. The style changed so drastically indeed that it's hard to believe both that it's still Lee AND that the imitators are doing such a poor job
or maybe Lee is long gone, the discord trannies are indeed poor imitators and some extremely autistic people simply can't accept that there isn't a barneyfag on 4chan at any given time.
