Compare any other game to the JRPG slop he plays and you can see they all get total wagequit immunity. Most games get the killswitch after 1-3 bad streams, but boring antique crap like suikoden or the latest yakooza gets 5000 separate chances where he'll beg, plead, whine and sob for his audience to 'attend, engage and support' while he barely cracks 50 bux on the median stream while flagrantly fake tipping.

It's a stretch to say Phil 'loves' anything besides gin and gacha, but if you compare how he treats random old head JRPg crap vs modern games it's clear he's at least semi sincere in proclaiming his love for them, which is a shame because the streams are a dire, total and absolute slog to watch every time he plays

You're correct in your assessment, but I think there's another layer to it. DSP loves lording things over his viewers to fuel his superiority complex. One of the only things he thinks he has is his knowledge and experience of playing games, but he doesn't even have that. He celebrates Dragon Quest as being a classic JRPG series, but he's a latecomer to the series, with DQ 11 being the first entry he played. He acts like he's a longtime fan of the Yakuza games, but the first game he played was Yakuza Dead Souls, a completely unrelated spin-off entry (probably because it's a zombie survival game, zombies being incredibly popular at the time), followed by Yakuza 0, which is a fairly modern Yakuza game. He acted like he knew everything about the Virtual Boy, despite admitting to only playing a demo version in a Blockbuster a single time. I was watching Tevin restream his Rimworld stream last night, and even though he is actively being handheld HEAVILY, he is acting like a know-it-all and explaining everything that he himself just learned to his viewers.

Instead he has to wait until his crayon eating, glue huffing audience to handhold him in a game meant for 8 year olds. He has holes in his brain the size of golf balls.

it is the social isolation mixed with the raging alcoholism that is really doing him in. He has been a retarded fat fuck his whole life. Totally agree about Khet though. She runs that household, which was further confirmed when she emasculated him on the Wings call.

This is a great example of Phil creating reality out of thin air. He says he doesn't know what's happening, checks the YouTube app on his phone, can't type in chat, and based on that alone he decides that YouTube doesn't work on mobile but does work on desktop. The only evidence he has is his experience in this moment, that's it. Then he realizes it's not working on desktop and just gives up and says he dunno. HUH? WHU?

It's a small moment but I think this is a really clear example of the way Phil will create his reality out of nothing. He does this constantly, where he will just pull something out of his ass and a sentence later it's fact. He did it with Zengief where he thought maybe one of the moves had been nerfed, then the next sentence that was just reality to him. Zengief was nerfed, obviously (he wasn't, go figure). It's really interesting to me. Do you think this comes from so much time isolated? From all his interactions coming from streaming and Twitter? Is it just his narcissism? Regardless it definitely shows how detached from reality he is, and how easy it is for him to build his own reality out of thin air. It's madness, but I can't look away.

It's definitely a narc thing, I've known completely sober, reasonably well adjusted (in the sense that they work an actual job and complete basic chores) narcs who follow the same line of thinking, where if a thought enters their head, or they hear from one of their few trusted sources, it's gospel. What hurts Phil is that, at least for a socialised narc, enough of what they learn is in fact true, so it's fine that they're annoying know-it-alls whose shit doesn't stink. Phil either gets his takes from other online retards, or has his rapidly deteriorating brain decide what's real, and he's just endlessly circling a drain of bad information.
