I shouldn't be amazed, but I always am when Trump talks normally to people, this time the US Hockey Team and they are loving it. He also invited them to the state of the union and they want to go and he's telling them the great thing about being President is he can get planes whenever he wants. He also states the obvious that while they're more important and newsworthy, he also has to bring the women's team too or he'll get impeached:

Oh man. After this, I can imagine journalists and social media hounding Alysa Liu for political allegiance to be their idol in opposition to the hockey, similar to the treatment that Taylor Swift got back when she was quiet about politics.

I also just thought of that and typed it all out while forgetting the the USA women's hockey team exists.

I think people can just not go if they don't want to.
But you'd have to be such a fucking politics brained retard to not show up for this kind of stuff.
Even if you dislike the president you get inside access to cool shit in washington and treated like a hero.

I'm super happy for the hockey boys. Beating Canada is awesome, they're all heroes and patriots.

Trump is handling number 2 by crippling their ability to get oil; it's hard to invade an island without gasoline these days. By knocking out Iran and Venezuela, China loses two valuable sources of oil. The success of the Venezuela raid in particular likely has the Chinese reevaluating their weapons. They likely thought their industry would be on par with America's, if not superior, even accounting for the Hispanic users- right until Lockheed Martin took offense at this comparison. Given American equipment and deployment capabilities, they have been studying the Nazi blitzkrieg tactics; China has perhaps 12 hours to overrun Taiwan and set up defenses sufficient to deter the Marines. If they intend to blitz Taiwan, they need to do it before they run out of oil and before the USA can respond.

China can import both food and oil from Russia via overland connections, which doesn't seem to be brought up as much as it should. Taiwan is also very heavily dependent on food imports, they import 70% of their calories. If the Chinese can launch enough missiles at the ports to destroy the equipment and/or scare off ships carrying food and enforce a blockade, the time pressure switches to Taiwan.

I don't know what the Chinese rocket industry looks like, but you need quite a few for a modern strategic bombing campaign. Russia produces about 100 a month which averages out to about 3 a day. The war's gone on for years so the Ukranian air defense is heavily attritted and most of these missiles land, but China will need vast stockpiles and even larger production lines if they want to starve Taiwan into submission, as at the start of the war, about 3/4ths of Russian missiles were intercepted, and it's taken them 4 years to get to today where they almost always land (<10% interception rate). I presume China doesn't want to get into a slog where their entire economy gets blockaded for years, so they'll have to cripple air defense very quickly if they want to batter the island into surrendering.

I've never understood this either. You're offered an all expenses paid vacation of a lifetime, something you'll talk about/remember until your dying breath, and you turn it down because of muh principles? This kind of moral grandstanding is beyond ridiculous.

It takes quite a few railroad tracks to match the capacity of even one large deep water port. Its doable, but its gonna be like going from a firehose to a low-flow kitchen faucet hose in terms of throughput and logistical complexity, since most of their distribution logistics are centered around their ports.

Russia has natural gas pipelines to China, but nobody bothered to set up an oil pipeline yet, which seems like a big skill issue from both sides.

China's economy is already going to be nuked by getting all but blockaded, any market accessable by sea will be cut off from them, and being a communist dictatorship, they only need enough oil to keep the war machine moving. I assume gasoline and plastics will be highly regulated if not banned outright for civilian use.

Agreed. Capacities for rail+road+pipeline are limited, and all are vulnerable to attack. @The Big A I like your posts but you're neglecting to take into account Taiwanese offensive capabilities. There's also the matter of likely response from other regional actors (Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines) to consider.

I think most of that part of Russia is still largely undeveloped and straight up wilderness. Probably goes back to the Sino-Soviet border "skirmishes." They call them skirmishes, but there were division-level engagements, and old mother russia has learned hard the value of trading space for time* and consolidation, so has deliberately neglected the region. That may have changed in the last 10 to 15 years, but probably not very significantly, at least on the rusky side.

I'm not much of a fan of Russian Governance, but there is something about the sheer endurance of the common Russian that I find admirable.

If the Chinese cannot secure their airspace over Mongolia, Xinjiang, and Northern Manchuria, they probably have much bigger issues to deal with, like draining the flood damage of the 3 Gorges Dam attack. Vietnam is a non-factor as they share a land border with China and most of the ruling class down there are in Peking's pocket. Korea and Japan have the same problem as Taiwan, both are massive food importers and can be starved out of the war. The hardest thing for the USN to manage in a war with China will be keeping the sea lanes open to keep our allies in the war. Both nations may sit the conflict out for that reason. Thailand is far away and has no power projection, and the Philippines at best can act as an operating base for the USN.

Fun fact, the Soviet-Chinese border was the longest fortified border in the world. The Soviets had a very sophisticated system to make the most of their limited manpower out east and delay the PLA for long enough for the Red Army to redeploy from Europe. They had elaborate bunker complexes, filled to the brim with ATGMs and air defense, often installed in remote-controlled outposts. They had an independent fortification company that ran their own bunker system for every kilometer of frontage, with each company able to support their neighboring one, and of course the entire border was littered with minefields and other barriers. Had the PLA tried a full invasion of Siberia in 1979, it would have made their fiasco in Vietnam look like a picnic.

I poke my head in there here and there, but I don't think there's any on-going major revelations. Certainly some smaller ones, but nothing really adds up to anything that changes the current understanding of it.
With what came out at the start, it just appears to me that Epstein was the Jewish equivalent of a wignat that thought he could do whatever he wanted because he was 1/1024th Jewish so that made him G-d's chosen and was allowed to do whatever he wanted to the gentiles; so he pimped out girls of all ages to people with money and connections primarily so that he could make money and build connections. Of those people, there's a few CEOs, lesser world leaders (or their family members), and soyientists, with current revelations just being more names of people I've never heard of being added to that list.
As a side note on people hyperfocusing on Trump in relation to the case; I do find it amusing though that nobody talks about the most credible accusation against Trump in there, that Epstein may have trafficked a 22 year old to him, but it's an adult so nobody really cares about the pimping.
As someone who spends a lot of time lurking there, this is one of the most interesting admissions found:
