Millions of years ago, before the first fish crawled out from the primordial sea, anime was actually a niche interest for westerners and it was harder to get into, unlike today.
You can’t read or speak the language, you wanted to know what was good to watch, and half the time you didn’t even know where to begin. That’s where the Digibros and Nuxs and those guys came in, they were loser gooners who simply watched everything and therefore had status because they actually knew what shows were good. Everything in anime culture is downstream from the gooners, it really is.
The gooners were also a type of normie detterent, people back in the ancient times actually wanted to gatekeep their anime bullshit and found out that if you just let the degenerates run wild less normies would show up and whine. What is the actual demographic for male Vtubers? If I had to guess I would assume that it's mostly teenage girls and adults would be in the minority. Based on nothing but pure speculation I wouldn't be surprised if most of the server was underage.

The stuff he was making during the time the server leaks were taken from (2018-2021 or so) was just weeaboo gooner shit, primarily aimed at teenagers and in a lot of cases children.

The Nikandros video put it best, he had a lot of content designed to lure in minors (mostly likely teenage boys) with a mix of popular cartoon and anime characters and cropped porn in his thumbnails, with titles like “cultured” so parents and YouTube filters wouldn’t pick up on it. It’s the same strategy that Elsagate channels used to lure in children back when that was a thing, only aimed at teenagers as opposed to young kids.
