It’s been dissected before, the fact that most of the absolute best science fiction and fantasy writers have had careers and backgrounds in serious fields prior to or concurrently writing their works.
Tolkien was a linguist of unparalleled talent, Asimov was a biochemist.
Frank Herbert never graduated college, but unlike piggy, he had a career as a journalist and was a talented writer.
Terry Pratchett, whom I think Patrick kind of wants to be, was a press officer for nuclear power stations.
Finally, Douglas Adams, who Fatrick really wants to be was a radio producer which led to Hitchhikers Guide being a radio play before a novel.
Plus Adams was a “real life tough guy”, being 6’5 and having worked as a bodyguard for a wealthy Arab family.
Patrick is this funny kind of sounding articulate when he is not oinking out and doesn’t immediately seem like a low brainpower fool.
But once pressed it becomes clear how little he really knows about anything.
The thing I am curious about regarding him is is he oinking out because he is frustrated that he once was on a fairly respectable path to being successful, with his stand up, novels, regular panel discussions and at least getting spots on tv shows, but now is a loser fat man reduced to renting out his house as a bnb?
Or does he still think he is successful and that these stalker children harass him out of jealousy?
In either case he seems to have stopped other projects, like Torque Wheeler and hasn’t brought up tiny Tim in space for a while.
He can’t be putting loads of time now into his lawsuit against the MPD.
As far as I understand it, papers have been submitted and so it’s in the court system until there is a verdict. It doesn’t require input from him right now.
