Honestly, TikTok is the worst brainworm there is. Not even MAGA, but whenever I'm interested in something and put myself into it, you usually get people who join and talk about shit they got on TikTok. 99% of the time it's wrong or overly simplified so that they can easily digest it. It's super annoying.

Since we also have an election in the fall, I'll say whatever candidate puts forward something to kill off TikTok I'll vote for them. It's a dreadful app.

God I remember when people used to trash Vine but so many of them still live rent free in my head a decade later because the 6 second limit forced people to get creative and people didn't take it seriously, it was mostly just joking around. Tiktoks fall into this awful middle ground where they don't have a tight restraint to work around but also don't allow anything that's long enough to be substantial and engaging. So you get a ton of slop where it's just some random person who wants you to spend 5 minutes listening to them ramble about their opinions.

That was Twitter too. 140 characters meant you had to get to the point and the people who were successful at going viral were very clever. Then they did 280 characters and now I think it’s unlimited? TikTok and X took these innovative, fun sites and stripped everything that made them innovative and fun. Now they’re just long form advertising portals.

They’re purposefully releasing files that mention celebrities who were not involved so they make the masses think twice about everyone they do hear about. They are banking on no one actually reading them themselves, just that they can later say “the same files that mentioned X beloved celebrity mention Trump and you believe them?”

This is why Trump is now TACOing on prosecuting the Clintons. If ANYONE mentioned in the files gets prosecuted it makes it hard to keep up the whole “fake Democrat hoax”
