We have the technology to defeat drones. It's just gonna take a while for it to mature and proliferate. What we will likely see is probably the addition of drone hunter teams at company level, IFVs/APCs/And other transports having dual purpose weapon platforms, jamming at platoon level and adding automated drone killer elements to stuff like artillery and AA.
we have the technology, I never deny that, I am saying we do not have the way to defeat them economically, and we are reliant on the enemy being low down terrorist cells and not a standing army, who will have measures to enable the Drones, America has become exceptional, the greatest in the world, at defeating enemies that are weak, small and hiding, my only fear is when we come up against someone who is not weak.
which doesn't seem likely in the near future, I'll admit.
You find the drone operators and kill them.
that's why I said "a real army", as is we fight small weak cells, against a real foe you can't just go and kill the drone operator with ease, and if so why not just "my dad is better than your dad" the entire war.
if that's how easy the enemy folds in that conflict, there wasn't anything to worry about anyway.
We've gotten to this weird cultural and political stalemate solely because the bloodthirsty and hateful side are also cowards.
I'd be so much better if they acted on their impulses immediately so they get quashed, but instead they nip at our heels for decades and one out of a million of them caps one on the right and that's the situation.
