I really don't like where this country is headed. It's one thing when someone who may not even be real or in the USA posts means words on the internet. But this is a former state representative, now running for state attorney general of Ohio, promising he will give Trump "capital punishment" if he is elected.

Now, I don't know if he focus-grouped this campaign message or what. But he seems to think that this is what can get him elected, as though this is popular sentiment. I really hope he is just delusional. I also hope this message doesn't actually "resonate" with voters. This month has been unfortunate, even bizarre at times. And I currently see no foreseeable break in this pattern of what can only be called hatred.

I used to think the Doomsday Clock actually meant something a few years ago. But starting in early 2024, when I started to seriously doubt my prior beliefs about positioning myself on the left and became extremely skeptical of progressivism in general (before I became outright against it in multiple ways), prior having succumbed to peer pressure being in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts and before I finally switched party affiliation (being one of the few Republicans today in that general area) last year, I've seriously called the authenticity of the Doomsday Clock into question, and the latest time set has all but lost my trust in it.

Glad you came around but it was obviously theater kid bullshittery from the start.
