As a TES thread poster, I can say that the disagreement with ICE comes down to their current methods. ICE can and should throw the illegals out of the country. Yet rolling up on a suburban street and grabbing an illegal off the sidewalk is not productive.

It has turned public perception of ICE into brutal thugs, turning simple arrests into national spectacles. And it seems like the administration is fine with that media attention. But is it the best use of time and resources? What is it, like 10% of DHS agents are in Minneapolis now? How many illegals are we detaining in Minneapolis per DHS agent? We should be mobilizing agents in the Southern border states, where millions of illegals live.

What have we gotten over the last few weeks in Minnesota? We may have gotten criminal scum out, but the American public only sees two Americans killed by government agents and children being detained and used as bait. We have a potential federal shutdown over ICE funding.

There is growing backlash to ICE and their current policies seem to further that backlash. I can foresee the ‘No borders’ leftists capitalizing on this and flooding the country even further. I want illegals out, but all I can see is the current ICE policies creating such a pendulum swing that will bring more illegals in.

To quote my favorite occult alleged wife beater two things can be true.
1. America has a right to enforce its borders and kick out illegal immigrants up to and using lethal force if need be.
2. The obvious unjustified killing of the last activist protester by a federal agent makes ICE look like the gestapo especially when federal law enforcement isn’t held to the same standards state and local police often are held to.
Huge fucking middle ground that doesnt require you to suck the Donald's dick or accuse every accusation of leftism being in love with an obese con man child rapist whatever the pejorative is this week.

Again The /Pol/ posting is tiring but TES acts like reddit personified i swear sometimes I think you guys belong in hell together forever.

While I agree that cartels are bad. Our government, the FBI and the CIA especially, have helped drug cartels for decades. Read Dark Alliance for more. That isn't the only time that they've helped drug pushers, gun runners, and murderers.

What's really strange is how people hyper focus on this instead of the hundreds if not thousands of successful encounters with ice where this does not happen, it's emotionally charged instead of looking at the logic of overall ice is doing a VERY good job, i'll back the people who have a 99% success ratio with encounters.

Because they're federal law enforcement they need to be held to an even higher standards than local or state police. Look 98% of the time and 99% of the officers are good and decent people doing a decent job. But just because they're doing a good job doesn't mean we should ignore blatant misconduct. Again these officers committed manslaughter however you feel about the deceased you need to hold bad actors including officers to account.

One of my problems with feds not all mind you but a lot of them is once you get the job its hard to be held accountable. If you can't be held to account bad things happen to good people.

But you know a simple "this officer will appear before a court" and even "this officer has been jailed" would not satiate these people, they want total defundment, they're frenzied and mad.
