rest of this post she made is better articulated, but this is a pretty atrocious thesis statement to it.
It's a long post but essentially she said it looks unappealing to normies because it's abnormal and they'll find themselves sympathising with the people who look normal by comparison. But opening it by saying "umm, they have, like, zero aura" is such zoomer brainrotted language that I can't even take the point she makes seriously. And the argument isn't even "it's scary and intimidating to ordinary people, so they're not sympathetic to them", it's "they looks ugly and are fat and incompetent." I'm not gonna die on the hill of saying there's not incompetence on display, especially with the Pretti killing (the Good killing is a very different ball park, though), but to say "they're completely incompetent" is so reductive. Even in the Pretti killing, you're in a situation where you have dozens of people blowing whistles at you, recording you, blocking you. It's likely you're gonna fuck up when shit like that happens. The majority of the time, I imagine I.C.E. are probably effective and shit like this only occurs when people cause scenes.
The point about the terminally online right fetishising Nazism and wanting to equate it to I.C.E. gear is also a poor, strawman argument. It's not that there aren't people like that, or there aren't at least people (myself included) who sometimes look at the camo and mask and think it looks cool (ironically, given her belief that it's "auraless"), but the main argument for a lot of the sensible right who do support I.C.E. and these mass deportations is that equating it to Nazism is exactly the kind of rhetoric that causes this anti-I.C.E. backlash to begin with, and saying "look, they look like FASCISTS" is a battle cry for people to harass/assault the agents carrying it out, which leads to more tense scenarios that cause deaths like these. Besides, I really don't think an ordinary person - either pro or against I.C.E. - is spending so much time fixated on the clothes. The mask thing to me makes perfect sense, both weather wise (it's cold as fuck in Minnesota) and - more importantly - because people would absolutely be harassing and doxxing the agents and their families if they saw their full faces.
I don't know why she's fixated on weight, and resorts to calling them fat. She's replying to a tweet by RadFemHitler, by the way, and RadFemHitler is insane. But in the image she posted in that OP the guy looks pretty normal.
Like I said, there's an argument in there that I even found myself making in another post, that they unsettle normies and that's probably why they're not seen as sympathetic. But the counter-argument to that is that the intimidation factor, however callous and cruel this may sound, is the most effective way to get people to self-deport, which prevents all this violence to begin with. You can cringe at memes the DHS Xitter account posts, you can call them gay larpers, you can say they have no W rizz and are mogged by ordinary women or whatever word salad you want to use, but it's probably the most effective system at decreasing migration that I've seen in my lifetime. So, idk, it's a weird one. I don't know if it's because she's like RFH, and she's hung up on Renee Good and feels she needs to counter-signal a white woman dying because she's in a mostly male political space, but these opening three paragraphs feel so off-putting to me.
