It is nigh-impossible to understand what their actual goal is beyond day-to-day statements by random people. The numbers aren't much higher when they're even padding them by counting ending temporary protected status for people. And by having them do stuff like arresting Americans 'appearing' foreign it pisses people off so that they turn against the deportation process.

Then tack on stuff like the ridiculous shootings and the next Democrat in office is likely to open the floodgates for immigrants as people turn in favor of them due to the public getting so disgusted with how ICE and border patrol have acted.

Ideally, deportations should be as boring as possible so that the public doesn't get bothered by them and there's zero recourse for those deported. We also shouldn't really have more stories about lawsuits paying out to people due to overzealous and incompetent immigration people.

ICE was not established by Trump, its mandate is not personal security, it is not a private security group, and is funded by taxpayers for the purpose of enforcing immigration and customs laws.

Every country has a version of ICE and kicks out illegals, but the US is the only one criticized for doing this. Why is that, I wonder?
