While I am glad this stuff is getting taken down fast, part of me wishes it could stay for just like two weeks or something and have it be CHAZ 2.0. I really want to see these protesters camp outside and try and feed 70+ people packets of apple sauce and boxed cereal.
 
In somewhat comical political news not related to the recent shooting in Minneapolis:
"They'll all look at you like the new leader, if you go fight that guy! You should go punch that guy right in his face," a man told the tallest member of Patriot Front on Friday when the group demonstrated in Washington DC.

"Go fight Thomas, and then you'll be the new leader if you win.""But you've gotta win!"

Basically America learnt this decades ago, and China is learning this now:

They can't even pull off the entire Belt Road 'own your ports and infrastructure' scheme in Africa because the infrastructure gets vandalized/scavenged and there is nothing to use it on because the rest of the country has regressed so much.

So when you do see continued Chinese investments, nowadays they use 100% Chinese workers for their extraction projects like a mini neocolonialist enclave.

in today's political climate throwing anyone on "your side" under the bus is just showing weakness. we're at a point where people give less and less of a shit. opinions on these ICE and border patrol shootings are basically political rorschach tests at this point.

the RW has been slower to learn this lesson but i wish they would. no point openly disavowing when there's little upside these days. mark robinson won 40% and that was with every elected republican throwing him under the bus. he still wouldn't have won but if they didn't we might've had a supermajority in the NC legislature right now. wish it wasn't this way but it is what it is.

unfortunately frey is just making the most politically savvy move here.

I was thinking the same thing. If that footage is withheld until federal agents come knocking to collect it as evidence for the investigation, it is likely good for ICE.

Yeah, We learned that it's better (we still shouldn't fucking do it) to just send them food and medicine than to actually invest in infrastructure there. China I guess didn't get the memo.

Even if someone were to manage to kill a federal agent, that person would very soon be killed afterwards. You don’t do something like that and expect to come out alive.
