Brett Smiley, Mayor of Providence, Rhode Island, has signed an executive order BANNING ICE from using city-owned property while enforcing immigration law.

He wants to protect criminal illegal aliens in his city and hinder immigration enforcement.

Keep in mind that China has been constantly trying to get into Greenland through Australian mining fronts in order to completely corner the entire rare earths industry.

Ultimately Trump might not get Greenland, but a permanent ‘No China’ sign is much better than what there is now, like what’s been done with Venezuela and Panama where the Chinese are freaking out now.

Now to deal with the Chagos Islands and to cuck Starmer out of that deal…

90% of the posts in this thread are people arguing about shit they know little of other than what they hear/read on the internet. It's kind of what goes on here.

I've never not been under the impression this place is just an argument chamber that switches to a circle jerk chamber when the point in time population's viewpoints homogenize.

The actual reality is that the US and the Euros have diverging geopolitical interests when it comes to China. Being against China is in US interests, but the Euros don't really have much interests in the Pacific any more. They don't care if giving the Chagos Islands away hurts the US interests, because they don't see it as NATO or European interests. The Euros see NATO as about protecting them in Europe, they don't give a shit outside that.

There's also that whole thing about them not wanting to admit that they're a continent of Sick, Old Men, like they actually matter on the world stage outside of the "Rules Based International Order." It's the only framework in which they have actual power.
