You can see it in any JRPG too. They're usually easy as shit but even the easy ones have at least one "pahzzle bahs" or a nasty enemy where you have to use a modicum of strategy to beat them. If the game suddenly stops letting him just spam attacks and spells with the highest raw attack numbers he's completely lost. Case in point - his embarrassing playthrough of E33.
Rewatching the outsyder snortathons in the background while gaming is rather amusing, so he has generated something of value by proxy. Credit where credit is due, I couldn't imagine the autism and grit required to sit through dozens of hours of this fattie to find content worth compiling.

Its crazy how the guy who bought the DownFromTheRafters account is still committed to the bit where he only plays while phil is off stream.
It always blows my mind how massive and fragile Phil's ego is. He would rather turn down entire weeks worth of income than subject himself to a stream appearance where he might be lightly teased. It's the only thing more fundamental to him than his greed.
It was part of the contract when he sold it. He'd show you this clause, but he doesn't want to put his family in danger.
