Actually no, most did not. It's like saying were most CEOs at corps. The tops did, and then it led down lesser to most by middle class whites they couldn't afford slaves. Most of the south worker and farm class were middle and lower class whites.

That sounds like a fun statistic but that happens because average life expectancy in Europe is several years higher than in the US and we have a greater population of people in their late 80s and 90s. They are who die due to hot weather. It isn't even necessarily to do with lack of AC but often more to do with older people not really feeling the heat and continuing to go for walks during intense heatwaves, often wearing too much clothes and not drinking more to offset sweating.

That sounds plausible until you remember that nowhere in Europe gets hot and old Americans spend lots of time outdoors in actually hot places like Arizona and Florida.
