The problem is you have to actually study the Bible to get the proper lessons from it. I spoke to a lifelong church goer recently who said their core principle they took from the Bible is "love God and love your neighbor".
Out of all the things there is in the Bible, a text that's incredibly layered, complex, and studded with genuinely useful advice and guidance all they got from it was "love God and love your neighbor". And they've been attending church every Sunday for 50 years.
Genuinely baffled me. Of course they're also an NPR listening drone who get genuinely upset when people support Trump. Their entire life principles that shape who they are is just "don't be mean" don't even appear to be mean. Because that's not loving your neighbor.
No idea what the fuck they're teaching in normie churches these days but it sure as shit isn't what the Bible actually says.
they teach the kind of thing that leads to people unironically saying that Jesus "materialized in jerusalem, and that's illegal immigration too," or those pictures of twitter retards saying "they would've told jesus to just comply." of course, if they read the bible, even just the new testament, they'd know that. as we've had a bit of discussion about before (the thread, not you and i) we've seen that churches of the liberal persuasion tend to focus on the peace and love messages while ignoring the parts that talk about how god razed baby rapers like the canaanites, or gave his blessing for an entire fortress to be slaughtered while it slept.
the teachings of the Lord are no longer with many, MANY american christians. instead, replaced by the teachings of pastors who've never so much as read the old testament all the way through.

massie should have never put a caveat for things that were allowed to be censored in any of the documents if people didn't want censorship. the fact that he did, alongside ro khanna, is why you have this problem now. massie knew none of the dems would ever accept an unredacted document, and has been coasting on the idea that one of the redacted names is definitely trump, but with zero evidence. also, why hasn't he come out and read that list of his on the house floor? he was so gun-sure of that, so POSITIVE that would make a difference, that he held a gay press conference with a bunch of young women he definitely wasn't trying to fuck now that his wife was dead.
