Per the "This is how we spend our money" video they just made, there was a section in it where they shout out all the LMG employees who left and started their own youtube channels. Choruses of "omg Linus is so benevolent to do that" erupted.

Until one of those people, Jake, demanded they remove him and his channel from that section (Archive). When they get to his section it's just blurred out now. Some nice drama surely going on behind that. Wonder if we'll ever get it.

Actually, yes you're right, i forgot they do that thing in the outro where they show that filming 1 host talking on a sofa with a static camera and minimal editing took 15+ people.
The only writer credited in that video is that zoomer faggot Elijah so i guess he always wanted to make content about capitalism and they weren't allowing him to until they saw GN shitting on AI companies and decided to copy him.

They've made dozens of videos. If anything the 100 person "team" at LTT seems to be a bloated hindrance for damn near everything due to mostly being idiots unable to do more than the one specific task they were hired to do for 8 hours a week. This is like when those retards from The Verge made their god awful PC build video full of fuckups, and the boss of the team claimed that due to having 7 or 8 people involved it was impossible to fix anything before publishing the video, yet plenty of other channels existed for years that were solo operations or had 2-3 people behind the scenes and could create similar videos just fine including re-shooting fuckups that they found and mostly just knowing what they were doing in the first place. Jayz2cents, the guy that drilled a hole through a motherboard to mount a waterblock and expected to not damage anything in the process could still do that with less errors and only sometimes having an assistant helping shoot the footage.

They have mediocre pay, which he did not filter it by industry/profession to make it actually relevant.
He even said on a WAN show that if you come to LTT you aren't going to get paid the best.

The location due to him wanting to live in an expensive area and not have to drive far to work probably eats up a lot of costs with just the properties.
It is also going to drive up your salary cost and increase competition for your talent pool.
So what does that get you? Cast offs, and young people who just need a name for clout and a resume point.
Its only a matter of time until he "does the needful" and resorts to jeets.

The worst thing he ever did to have people question how he compensates his employs is make their places content in the upgrade series.
It doesn't look good when most your employees are living at home with their parents, or with several roomates in tiny spaces.

In the video I noticed he was hyping up that shitty musical lolipop thing; I initally heard about it from an iFixit video on that candy about how it's a disposable waste. To be honest I'm not one to be super concerned about the environment as some others, but this is on the level of those disposable vapes, but somehow worse.

What's even funnier is we all saw this early on when the computer upgrade videos showed that nearly everyone had stolen LTT tech from video cards to the higher end video equipment. If they couldn't manage inventory at 20 employees, they had no chance at 100+

On top of the “thefts” being from shit inventory management, I think it’s also cultural. He's way too fat to have a physical job and not be endlessly bitching about it on his socials, so more likely he's just coasting on savings, cashing out any normal investments and the like he'd have collected from decades of vaguely listening to a financial advisor. If you're willing to destroy your retirement and a chance at a future, you can coast for a LONG time in the here and now, with early withdraws from retirement and other assets, even with the penalty payments factored in.
